The Sylvan Retreat

I was apprehensive while booking, and when I called the The Sylvan Retreat regarding the location of the The Sylvan Retreat, they were honest to let me know telecom signals are weak and no wifi is available. That's they recommend first time travelers to come during day time to guide the drivers. Local drivers who know where Jaspal Rana institute is there can easily find out the The Sylvan Retreat. As we went there in middle of the week, there was only another group who booked, and the whole place was left to us. The rooms and manicured garden and lawns were very good. Away from hustle bustle of Dehradun, we had lazy mornings and afternoons we visited tourist spots in Dehradun. No noise, only bird chirps and greenery all around. Small stream beside the The Sylvan Retreat which lends a nice charm to this place. More than the The Sylvan Retreat we are bowled over by Mr. Digambar and his staff. They were all very courteous and helped us to make our stat very comfortable and a pleasant experience. For bigger groups they can arrange a bonfire, and food was excellent. I would recommend this place very highly if you are nature lover. Finally, yes no wifi nor TV in rooms. I actually liked this aspect because nothing distracts a group from enjoying than a mobile phone. I could find network for checking on important messages at certain spots in resort and Mr. Digambar can assist for any message flow if needed.

The sylvan retreat resort was an excellent find on mmt. This is one of the excellent boutique resort about 16 km from dehradun on pond-ha road, very close to jaspal rana shooting academy and a perfect place for an extended weekend far from the hustle bustle of city. The nearest market is 10 minutes drive downhill about 6 7 km. But then this is what we wanted. Registration process is very swift and easy and we were provided our room after 20 minutes only while we relaxed and had a welcome drink. Beautiful rooms and cottages with wooden interiors very clean n comfortable with attached bath. This is one of the few resorts which is per friendly. Food is available in room as well as dining area and u can have special dishes made for u. Chef ha-render was very polite and we had some amazing food items. We didn't have kids along but kids might find this place a little boring though they have bikes on rent, spa, carrom board and a movie theater. We went in jun e end and it rained only for a day and was a bit hot after 12 noon. The best season we were told is in september october. I would highly recommend this place if u wanna rejuvenate and destrss urself.

It is literally a retreat and those who ar looking to hop between doon and retreat should avoid the place. It was serene, calm and a place to just relax. It is pet friendly place so one can carry pets too which makes it an even great destination, however hygiene practices are questionable as i could see one of the guests using guest towels to clean their dog.At least the towels can be separated for the two as it is a pet friendly resort. The toilet had permanent spots which as per the staff wasn't someone's dirt but can't be removed, it was disgusting indeed. The food was somewhere between good to average, staff was prompt with few hitches which is of course human. Place is amazingly big and good enough for 15 families to spread across and chill.

The experience at Sylvan Retreat has been awesome! The food was very good just like home cooked with less oil, breakfast buffet was good too with fresh cut fruits, south Indian and North Indian flavours along with English breakfast. very flexible with customisation of meals. Property is well maintained and the unique movie hall addition. Being dog friendly was so helpful, we could invite my family friends who have a dog. Games for children and lot of trekking opportunities within the resort were great. River flowing in the back side was topping on the cake !

What a resort. Damn good. It’s lush green and surrounded by river (narrow flow of water), peaceful with limited rooms - 7-8 superior rooms which is side by side (premium quality) and 3 cottage style rooms (premium and river side view. Kids can play all games - they have all games amenities (foc) including bicycles (on chargeable basis) + lush green big grounds. Complete property is surrounded by hills. Food is awesome / home-style and room services and hospitality is great/hassle free !

Picturesque location - surrounded by jungle and mountains, a small stream of river in the back, lots of open green space and an adventurous ride in the hills ! weather was on our side too - drizzling intermittently to make things more than perfect. Nicely built and well maintained rooms and cottages, all with wooden interiors. Food was averagely good, nothing to complain for. To summarise - a place worth experiencing with family.

Amazing property with beautiful view and best part is the river, it's a wonderful surprise package. 5/5 for staff behaviour, special thanks to pawan, santosh and there manager anuj, really helpful staff. Few things to work upon. 1)mini fridge should be available in each room. 2)arrow for directions was missing. 3)it would be lovely if you would have a little big breakfast buffet (less food option in buffet. Rest loved the place.

The retreat is for those who value and cherish family outings or with friends in a place filled with natural splendour be it mountains, river, flora and fauna. The staff is very warm hospitable and friendly. The food served us outstanding and delicious. The resort is amazing and fully recommended. A special mention for mayaram bhatt and mr anuj for their outstanding commitment to hospitality of guests.

If you are looking for a place away from city life, and this place is a must-go, the place is very calm and nice and the hospitality is also great.

The room was clean and food was tasty.

We visited as a family. Staff was very polite and positive, they even care about your food calibration. I feel it's worth more than price.

Property location is excellent, with two rivers gushing around, which will be the only noise you will be hearing here. Hospitality is good, with adequate variety for breakfast. Wifi connection was intermittent. Only drawback is the approach road to the property, which is quite steep, and needs skillful driving. Overall a good stay.

I find the place really nice, beautiful and peaceful. The staff was really cooperating. Sanjay was very polite and accommodating. T apish a young boy was very polite, calm and hospitality was great. Anuj did a wonderful job. What a team effort keep up! will come soon.

A very beautiful property well maintained has huge gardens and various activities too like badminton tennis u can also ask them to arrange fr born fire. The also have a river flowing by which is spectacular. Our stay was very peaceful would definetly recommend people to go as it's very pocket friendly pages around 8k in which dinner and breakfast was included.

Breathtaking views and extremely good property. Loved the food and hygiene at the property staff is very friendly and my 3 months old kid enjoyed a lot. They have taken special care of her. Overall a great experience. Special thanks to haridnder singh, he made comfortable stay and vacation.

We stayed for a couple of days at sylvan and it had to be one of our most comfortable stays. The food was sumptuous and delicious, the staff was the most hospitable and they entertained all our requests with a smile. The riverside adds another dimension to your stay here. Highly recommended for people who enjoy tranquility!
