The Sylvan Retreat

The location is 25 kms from main city of dehradun. The roads are not good and the road just close to the property is very steep for small cars to drive. Now coming to the property, if you are looking for a stay amid-st nature and serene beauty, then this place is highly recommended. The scenic picturesque of the resort and the nearby surroundings are just mind blowing. The food is top notch though complimentary breakfast options are limited. The staff are very cordial and supportive. They are always available 24x7. There are a lot of open spaces for outdoor activities. Sufficient car parking available and pets are also allowed. Many interesting activites are arranged by the management and it's worth appreciating. Overall a pleasant experience and a must try for a change.

Nice organised place in the middle of forest greens and a river. Its takes a steep climb and hilly terrain to reach and access is not simple. We took one cottage and a room to get a feel of both and that worked well. There are lots of fun activities that you can do like watching birds, cricket, badminton, frisbee, etc. Cafe experience was ordinary but the food was good. Overall a great experience for our one-day break. Only one downside was that no staff was available between 11pm to 7:30pm in the campus. God forbid, if there is a medical emergency at night, it could get very risky especially if you are travel-ling with senior citizens. Hope that can be improved.

Property is big and well maintained, although they are still adding a lot but the place is amazing and you just feel in lap of nature with river, small hill climb, trees, a bunch of colorful birds always around. Also the staff was always there whenever we asked for anything. Special kudos to the chef for great meals and mouthwatering tastes in all dishes. Only issue we found was with the suite room where we could hear sound from the suite next to our room. Otherwise 5 star to everything else property, location, staff and food.

I found the stay through youtube videos. It was a wonderful stay with vast expanse of property. There was a soothing calm flowing brook nearby, hills surrounding the property, mango trees in the property. The swimming pool looked really clean. However, owing to winter season, we did not take a dip. I had travel-led with my family including my infant baby. The food portion was quite big and was decent in taste. There was open air movie being played at night. All in all, a beautiful stay at an economical price.

Words can’t describe how wonderful and pleasant my stay was with sylvan retreat. The hospitality i received from the time of check-in until checkout was at par. My room faced an electrical issue where in my room light went off, they were kind enough to offer me an upgrade to their pinewood cottage however it was too large for me hence i decided to opt for a superior room. The room was beautiful with all amenities as originally booked room. Overall it was a great experience, will definitely come back to room.

We stayed for one night and our overall experience is good. Rooms and all property is well maintained, food quality is average, service and staff was very good. We booked this pet friendly resort through make my trip, however after check in we were charged additional rs 1000 as pet charges. I found this very strange since it was not mentioned on mmt. Overall experience was good including dining experience near river.

‘only one room available’ was showing and when i reached the The Sylvan Retreat, i got to know that only one room was occupied and that to by me! i had to shift the room as there ants in one of the drawers, the telephone wasn’t working and the room wasn’t neat and clean. But the new room was in good condition and overall experience was nice. The property is beautiful.

Location is excellent. Property is inside the forest area with river access. We can enjoy the nature.

Children's friendly, relaxing environment, nature, rivers, mountains, activities, cycling. Amazing trip. Recommended to all. Must go.

Very good property but must improve their non veg food quality lawns are very good and rooms are big

It was an amazing experience; it was raining continuously the staff made my stay very comfortable. The hot tea and pakoras were the icing on the cake. The journey from highway to the resort was a treat for the eyes. The resort has rivers on both sides, amazing landscapes, spacious rooms, and hospitable staff, makes the stay as memorable one.

The property is very nice and huge. Good rooms, nice view, tasty food, river and good service. But please don't go there in summer because the temperature is almost the same as delhi. This place is for october november types.

Nice stay. Reasonably good property. Away from the hulaballoo of the city. The chef mr. Singh at the resort was excellent. The staff also was very cooperative. Overall a good place to spend quality time with your family. You would enjoy the property if you have a laid back schedule and love to undertake long walks in the mountains!

Loved the place, food, it's really close to nature and if you want peace then it's the best place to stay.

Property is well maintained and room are too good. Food is very good with a very hospitable workforce. On thing i missed was pool and some recreational activities. Approach rood could be repaired.
