THE TEA ROAD

I spent 3 days of my Pondicherry stay in this THE TEA ROAD and I was happy with overall stay there. Location: It is located right on Auroville road and all destinations are very approachable. Auroville beach is just 10-15 mins walking distance from the THE TEA ROAD. Serenity beach is 10 mins drive. NH32 is connected via an internal road with 15 mins drive. So easy to locate and good location. Hotel rooms: This is Chinese theme place so rooms are with all wooden finishing and yellow lights. Very large bed on a wooden cabinet with drawer storage below it. Good quality mattresses which can be folded for sitting arrangement. Comfortable size washroom with all amenities. We had a broken jet spray which was changed later by THE TEA ROAD staff. Restaurant: Hotel has its own restaurant on first floor with descent menu of veg/non-veg items. Good place to sit and spend time with family. We were provided with complementary breakfast and bought lunches there few times. Food quality and service was average due to shortage of staff. Ambiance: This is good part of this place that we don't have to be locked in rooms. Corridor is very well designed and maintained with all wooden seating arrangement and you would like to relax there with a book, family or friend. It is lit well during evening and night hours which can entice people who don't want a noisy enjoyment. Only 6 rooms so never going to be crowded and you can enjoy some peaceful time. However I would request management to arrange some mosquito prevention because there were lot and lot of mosquitoes. I ha to arrange the spray myself. Parking: I got a parking inside the gate during night and ample space outside the gate for daytime. Cleanliness: Overall I was happy with cleanliness of the place. However I would expect a daily cleaning of rooms and washroom too being a beach THE TEA ROAD. I had to ask for it. It is not done on daily basis (again I could see the shortage of staff). Staff: People were polite, helpful and flexible towards guests. But I would ask management to increase the staff so the burden can be balanced and guests can get the required attention. There was no one available during night hours to address your requests/concerns. There was no reception maintained where you can just walk or call to. Value for money: I would say prices can be more reasonable considering the amenities and facilities provided. So overall an enjoyable and peaceful stay with its pros and cons. I am sure management would review my feedback to improve on points I mentioned and can make it better for guest. I would still suggest it for family, couple or friends stays.

Overall Thumbs Up !!. Stay was pleasant with good ambience and good food . Very approachable to beach and Auroville . Caretakers are at their best . . No television but it doesn't spoil the stay as we all have our handheld devices/Laptops. Cons:. Average bedsheets, bedspreads, curtains & Bathroom faucets

The location is close to auroville. You can easily rent a bike and roam around, helpful staff and good food.
The staff were friendly and helpful.

The manager and the staff are very sweet. Helped us with everything. Food in the restaurant is very good. Very close to the serenity beach. Staff in the THE TEA ROAD are very sweet and helping.

The stay was cool. And the ambiance was perfect.
