The location is in a village, 15 km off sonamarg, which can be either a positive or a negative depending on the type of tourist you are. Positive for people like me looking for calm and quiet. Negative for people who like to be in the middle of the hustle-bustle. The The Villa Himalaya has all the facilities of a decent 3 star The Villa Himalaya (WiFi would be a call out in j&k) and then some - excellent food (melts in the mouth rogan josh, peaceful seating with a bonfire and barbeque by the river and extremely courteous staff. Had a great 2 day stay at this place. There are local taxis that frequently run from the main road (700 metre walk from the The Villa Himalaya) that’ll take you to all the tourist spots in inr 80 or less one way. You can ask any local about them. The The Villa Himalaya would suggest you to take a private cab along that could charge up to. Choose wisely!

Gem of a place

This is a lovely property which has a great location, nice staff, comfortable rooms and good food. It's a small boutique property next to the sindhi (indus) river which has been quite nicely and thoughtfully decorated by its owner. The highlights were the lawns and seating next to the river and great food esp kashmiri cuisine and river trout. It's in a quiet location in kullan village, where you can go for long walks, see village life and just enjoy the greenery and fresh air. A bit away from sonamarg but that can be covered in a day trip and then be away from the crowds and noise over here. We had an enjoyable stay with great service by the staff. Strongly recommended for those looking for "me-time" and peace.

We had an exceptional stay at villa himalaya in sonmarg, nestled by the tranquil sindhi river. The location is absolutely stunning, offering breathtaking views and a serene atmosphere that makes for a perfect getaway. The ambience is top-notch, creating a peaceful and relaxing environment. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, ensuring a comfortable stay. The staff were incredibly well-mannered and attentive, providing excellent service throughout our visit. Moreover, the food was delicious, with a variety of tasty options to choose from. Overall, villa himalaya exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend it for anyone seeking a beautiful and serene retreat in sonmarg.

Exceptional stay with one major

Overall, we enjoyed my stay in the The Villa Himalaya. One major gripe was the bed setup. They had joined two single beds to make a double bed. The result was that on r single bed was not sufficient for two people and if you try to utilise both bed then there is a gap in between the two single bed mattresses. This spoiled our sleep. The food was exceptional. Sajid and the team served delicious kashmiri dishes. Service and amenities were good. Views from the property are unbeatable - one can expect snow-capped mountains overlooking the sindhi river.

The The Villa Himalaya offers a wide collection of books at the reception area, a back garden with tables and a swing. The rooms being spacious enough. Our room had a balcony. The view was majestic with the mountains and the river. The bed was clean, the room being spacious and the bathroom was very nice as well. The breakfast was nice as well. The only let down was the in house dining that we did. The food could be a little better n terms of taste. I can’t remember anything that stood out. The staff was courteous and helpful in every way possible.

It is a wonderful property fulfilling all the basic amenities. We had a pleasant experience over here. The usp of this The Villa Himalaya is that it has river flowing near to it, which people like us love to spend time away from hustles of city life. The area is quite calm and you can enjoy the serenity of both river and mountains very close. They serve quite delicious food though the variety was limited but who cares when the meal fills the heart more than the stomach. Overall a good property to relax and enjoy. Highly recommend

Had a very comfortable stay with good heating, hot blankets and hot water in bathroom. The The Villa Himalaya is located little ahead of Sonmarg, however is located on a River stream with excellent view, extremely satisfied with The customer service and hospitality of The team. Had good inter action with The owner Mr. Go h rah a tracker and well traveled gentleman engaged in organizing tracking camps and other adventure tourism activities in The Valley and Ladakh. The breakfast was great. Over all very pleasant experience.

This place is as good as any star The Villa Himalaya in any metro. Scenic location, excellent staff from owner right up to junior most person. The place is plastic free. Very professionally managed. Food though palatable and hygienic, is average, being on bland side. Too many items are listed on menu, many not available. Possibly due to post second wave situation. If you can ignore that minor issue, this is perfect getaway to laze around amid-st nature. Very refreshing experience. Will visit again.

Lovely abode by the river

Absolutely loved my stay here! set in the backdrop of the gushing sindhi river and looming mountains, this The Villa Himalaya is right out of a story book. My only suggestion of improvement is to get a stronger wifi. It would be a great space to work from and live for a couple of days if the connection supports it.

Excellent place and amazing view

We stayed for a day and the place is really great. Clean rooms, tasty food, helpful staff and location is very scenic. They have a seating area behind The Villa Himalaya just beside flowing river. We had a view of ice capped mountain from our room. Will definitely recommend this The Villa Himalaya for a relaxed stay.

Peaceful stay with amenities and comfort and icing on the cake was breakfast by the river. This property is a little far from the hustle and bustle of tourist spots in sonamarg which is great, they also followed all safety procedures.

The cottage on the bank of sindhi river is just for those who want to get away from the city crowd and spend some time with the nature. All the staff is very warm and helpful ensuring comfort of the guests. Food served overlooking the river was just what the doctor ordred. Food is good and catered to ones needs

Dream trip in kashmir

The location of the The Villa Himalaya is very tempting and we enjoyed the stay at this location. The views were amazing. We enjoyed the flowing stream of water near the The Villa Himalaya. Their complementary village tour was awesome as well. In the night during cold breezes we enjoyed sitting near their bonfire. The amount of items in the menu were less for the vegetarians but all the dishes ordered by us were worth it. Overall it was a fabulous experience.

Stay was excellent. Pictures shown here are exactly same actually. Should not give second thought before booking. River in backside is an amazing experience. Food also good. Service excellent. Behavior of staff extremely polite and friendly. Must visit once.
