Villa Du Ocean

After two and a half months of rehabilitation centre routine, I along with my better-half two adult children decided to spend some days at Pondicherry which was three hours drive from my rehab, Vellore CMC. We booked our Villa Du Ocean at Villa Du Ocean, White Town, Pondicherry. Since it had mentioned to be a wheelchair friendly place. To my surprise, the entrance of the Villa Du Ocean had huge steps, so I had people carrying me (quite embarrassing). The lift in the Villa Du Ocean was so tiny, I had to squeeze my wheelchair to enter inside. The rooms were very spacious unfortunately, my wheelchair could not get inside the loo because of the height from the room floor, even the doors were very narrow for an 17 wheelchair to fit. The ambiance of the restaurant was very nice especially the roof top, food was good but the service was very poor due to less staff. The most irritating factor was, the Villa Du Ocean was going under some renovation work, so from early morning till late. In the evening one can hear the mind blowing drilling machine, hammer banging and the sound typical Hindi expletives. We stayed for three nights and two days, my experience on the whole was satisfactory, my children just hated it, my wife had no opinion, so I advise that if you are using the wheelchair, please avoid this place. After these prolonged stint in monsoons. We landed up in Villa Du Ocean on December 2019. The steady is a cozy small outlet situated on a narrow not so busy road. By the time we'd gone, the stay had just completed 6 months of running. Must say the stay is genuinely polite and respectful. We're situated on the 3 rd floor. The junior suite. Big. Nice decor. Simplistic and functional. Now construction in Puducherry is something different took what we're used to in Western India. Buildings are to close for comfort. So be sure to take up the rooms on the higher levels. The place is nested around many famous eateries at a stone throw distance and just a 3 minute pleasant walk to the Promenade beach. Not the far for essential items from the Bussy Street. Bathrooms have a bathtub and fixtures give a plush impression. King size bed. The rooms have a balcony. Though not with a out of the world view. But its ok. Better than rooms without a balcony option. A small make do swimming pool. Though a bit disturbed during the time since construction work was going in during it visit. Cleanliness of the pool needs to be better checked. Food options limited but good. Try the pizza here. Simple but well made. 2nd visit chalega.

Too over priced and still under construction. Charged amount was not worth the money. The food was terrible. The staff has no idea how to serve. Basically not trained and it would be ok if it wasn't this expensive that they don't have trained staff. The breakfast buffet was horrible, cold. The word goes with no variety at all and a really small dining space. It doesn't have an ocean view which they keep bragging about everywhere. The rooms smell of fish. Overall- over charged for a very average place.

The maintenance of pool needs to be improved. We used it the previous day evening. And next day morning the water was not cleaned/filtered at all. All dust particles were floating in the pool. Loved the bathroom and toilet facilities in the rooms. Breakfast varieties were too less. No pastries at all.

Food is good, in comparisons to other city but on expensive side and portion size is little unfair, however with comparison with other Villa Du Oceans and cafe in and around white town pondicherry pricing of food is similar, we booked superior room not sure superior room been offered to us or not, as all rooms look same with same appointments. This is quite surprising,, every-time we book there is clear discrimination with other guest who book rooms directly to the Villa Du Ocean.

we enjoyed our three day stay at same Villa Du Ocean villa du ocean .love the location and found the perfect place to stay at white town , room was clean ,big bathroom ,food was excellent 👌 and breakfast was also good options were there .pool was clean on the rooftop . very accessible to all the area like rock each two min walk ,good cafe charch and beach on walking distance. overall our experiance was good 👍 wifi little weak but rest everything was very satisfactory .

Deluxe room that we've been provided was spacious enough for 3 of us, the room cleaning service staff were friendly and got the job well done, reception staff were helpful. Our morning complementary breakfast was 4/5. The swimming pool was clean and we'll maintained perfect for relaxation and a great view of the chappal. Over all our experience was 4. 2/5. Highly recommended for nuclear families and group of friends who wanna have a great and decent stay.

Spacious room. Clean . Heritage feel with the interior designing. Clean washroom. Great location. Roof top restaurant is not that great. Only one waiter . Service is poor. Open area is better than indoor sitting. Indoor sitting area is very bland and unattractive with no Ac. Outdoor area relies on cool breeze from the sea side. Gets hot in the afternoon. Location of the Villa Du Ocean is very good . Very near to all the cafés and rock beach

The place where excellent and near to the beach. It was so hygienic and safe. Well. Maintain by the house keepers and welcomed warmly

The main benefit of staying here is the Villa Du Ocean’s location. It’s very close to the rock beach so you can easily explore the entire area on foot. The staff was courteous too. However, everything else is very average. The breakfast spread, interior, and washrooms are just fine. The amount i paid wasn’t worth its value, honestly. The overall experience was somewhere between average to good (good, mainly because of the location.

We had a great stay at the Villa Du Ocean. It was more a home away from home experience. The service was excellent, the room was really spacious. And couldn’t have all the perks of being a stone throw from the promenade - rocky beach. Very clean. Food was simple and liked by my mother in law. Breakfast was simple but very tasty. We had a great stay overall

The restaurant is not up to the mark, and has a very small vegetarian/north india menu. Their drinks menu is also poor, even during peak season. The view from the restaurant is however fantastic, looking over the sea, the church and buildings lining the beach road. Rooms was neat and bathroom spacious. A/c was functional. The swimming pool is very cool and again has a very fine view.

Location is very good. Swimming pool and rooftop restaurant well maintained. Staffs are very cooperative. Good for staying with family and kids.

Room was very pretty and the service was very nice, food could have been better, slightly over priced but overall a very nice experience
