Wander Station | Rooms & Dorms

I was always fascinated by khumb mela, but i have taken more than four poorna khumb time to finally make it here. Planned the whole trip just 2 days prior. Managed to get the last room at a hostel overlooking the ghats from the rooftop. The name of the place is 'wander station. It is located just 800mts from the viswanath temple, but we had to walk through a maze of narrow alleys that are very unique to varanasi. It is well maintained and frequented by indian and foreign backpackers. The roof of the building overlooking the ganges is its main attraction with programme's like classical music and jamming programmes along with campfire. Youngsters playing chess and smoking weed. Food is fresh and decent. We managed to contact a security person at the temple who got us a vip sparsh darshan at 6am. We had breakfast at temple food court and finished it with a huge rasagulla, almost four times the size of the tinned ones. We went back to the room after visiting kosi visalakshi temple. We had to check out at 11am and couldn't get extension till evening as it was overbooked. The friendly owner offered us the common room to relax and keep our luggage. We left the luggage at Wander Station | Rooms & Dorms and wanderer-ed on the ghats that were very close by after having a dip in the ganges. Had a nice boat ride at sunset and made friendship with the boatman, who was also a guide. Watched the harathi and had some hot prasad at nearby temple. My travelogu on kashi visit

Experienced a very comfortable stay with excellent vibes and cooperative staff with good genteel. The classical music and jamming sessions were added unexpectedly awesome bonus. Cleanliness and hygiene maintained well. Choice of food and beverages available for a satisfying meal and as per requirement too. View of mama ganga is good from rooftop and proximity to all important mandirs as well as ghats is super easy being just in the centre. They extended help at odd hours (midnight) for carrying our heavy stuff to the hostel and we were attended as per our convenience. Overall, will like to repeat the experience.

Hello, we had a wonderful stay at wander station. The amenities, cleanliness and infrastructure is very nice. Two things which i feel that needs a little attention is the quality and taste of food at the roof top cafe, secondly one thing we noticed is that the interaction with the front desk staff was very cold. They seemed not interested in answering any queries or during simple courteous greeting they seemed very dull and uninterested. Hope to come stay with you guys in the future. The ideal place to stay for both groups and lone travelers. Clean restrooms, sanitary blankets and beds, and well-maintained rooms provide for an excellent visit. You are picked up and dropped off from the main road by the genuinely helpful staff, who are also extremely courteous to show you around. Even though you arrive alone, you bring a wealth of memories with you. In varanasi, the best place to stay. Well worth the investment.

Everything except the narrow pathways to the facility was excellent. The reception was warm and welcoming, corridors were neat and aesthetically pleasing, rooms & toilets clean, bed linen clean without any spots. One of the highlights is the view from terrace restaurant where the food is tasty and prepared live but the rates are bit on a higher side. Overall a comfortable and decent stay. Highly recommended for backpackers.

I stayed here for 2 nights on my way to Maha Kumbh 2025. Very good location. Clean beds, rooms and toilets. Warm water. Good people. Really nice view from the terrace. Really good quality food (I had Thukpa). On weekends it arranged musical evening on the roof/ terrace. It was a total pleasant surprise! It’s a blend of service, taste, environment. Stay to feel the vibes. I’ll be back here soon.

Clean, cosy beds and lockers are on point. Safe and hygienic place. No second thoughts on the location, we do get a view of ganges and temple from here. I met many amazing group of people with different states, countries and background. The jamming sessions on weekend is to look out for. I just loved it you will too )

The location is excellent, bang opposite the ganga bank. View is excellent. Rooms were well maintained and staff was cordial. Kashi vishwanath temple and ghats are easily accessible, at a walking distance.

Overall good stay. Cleanliness was good. Room heaters were installed and working. Staff was very helpful.

Came for a wedding and one night stay in varanasi. Had a blissful experience, great staff and location. Ghat was just 5 min walk from the Wander Station | Rooms & Dorms. The special classical music for the evening was also mesmerizing. Overall wonderful experience

Host ashutosh and his team were fantastic. Highly recommended and safe for solo travelers. For better experience opt for 14 members sharing.

Its best in this budget. Too neat and clean and extremely comfortable. Easily accessible from all the major points and their support staff also guides very well on everything. Perfectly recommended for anyone wanting to go to varanasi.

The dormitory was very good, clean, hygienic. The stay was very comfortable. The receptionist, the manager were humble. The property is well maintained both from inside and outside. The terrace had live music sessions. Overall it was a fantastic experience.

Clean good stay, stayed in private room. Temple is at a walkable distance. They have a good bonfire on the terrace every night. Ps: do call the reception and ask for directions when checking in.
