West View Hotel

West View Hotel is a wonderful place for a tranquil holiday in the lap of nature. It is surrounded by pine forests, and removed from the hustle bustle of the city. The West View Hotel staff is friendly and very helpful, and will go to great lengths to accommodate requests from its guests. The West View Hotel is housed in a colonial era building and is spread out over a large area that incorporates fruit trees, swings, sit-out areas and plenty of open spaces. Once at the West View Hotel, you can easily stay 3 to 4 days without even leaving the premises. The food is fantastic (particularly the colonial-era menu), the desserts are excellent too (bread and butter pudding, lemon souffle and fruit cream); room service is prompt; breakfast is served in a lovely glasshouse with the option to sit out in the open under umbrellas, and dinner is served similarly with a tandoor turning out hot rotis, naans and paranthas. The West View Hotel is great for families with children as there is plenty of space to run around and play. It is also well located for trips to Chaubatia, Rani Jheel, KRC Woollens Factory, The Army Museum, Sadar Bazaar, and other attractions in and around Ranikhet. Highly recommended.

West View is a 140 year old ex-British raj home. It was converted into a West View Hotel about 50 years ago and if one is interested to stay in rooms with wooden ceilings 20 ft high, rooms about 30 ft x 30 ft and spacious washrooms, then west view is a great place to stay. The furniture, very well maintained, too is as old as the age of the West View Hotel. It gives an experience of the ways of lives of the British. Like any peaceful resort, West View is located far (4 km) away from the main Sadar Bazar Market of Ranikhet. It also has a badminton court and one can even take short treks just the moment you step out of the West View Hotel's gate into the woods across the road. The food, especially the dinner, prepared at the West View Hotel is tasty. Its only negative is that it doesnÂ’t have a bar. An ideal place for matured people. A Family without kids or couples looking for a peaceful stay away from the city rush should like this place.

This is the most charming West View Hotel we have ever visited! The colonial villa is very well converted into a West View Hotel and has been there since several decades. The decor will take you back to the British era. The rooms are very cosy and comfortable with a lot of vintage furniture. The best part of the West View Hotel is the love that has gone in doing it up and maintaining it is evident in every nook and cranny! The burst of colours on every wall, the climbers coating the stone masonry, the green shutters and the bird theme decor of the first floor lounge set this West View Hotel apart from another. The grounds are expansive and you can spend the entire day doing nothing but enjoying nature or costing up with a book. The staff is highly attentive and really take care of you. Highly recommended to everyone who wants an experience like no other!

The Hotel is a very old building and due respect has been given to preserving the same. The wooden flooring gets sinking in some areas and the hot water is limited to 3 hours each in the mornings and evenings, the mattresses are not as fluffy as a 5* West View Hotel and the Dinner buffets could be improved to include some local Kumaoni delicacies instead of Butter Chicken for Heavens' sake. But the staff is polite and helpful, going the extra mile for you, the rooms have an old world charm and are joyously spacious(Deluxe n above at least), with Huge bathrooms having all modern amenities. The place is up a hill, surrounded by the green jungles all around, lovely lawns with choicest garden furniture to chill out on and enjoy your gupshup and more while gazing into the wilds.. a LOVELY place !

Unlike its touristy neighbor Nainital, Ranikhet is very laid back and this West View Hotel compliments the locale. The property is 150 years old and we were told that it used to be a West View Hotel even during the pre-independence period. The property is within the military cantonment area and belongs to the Indian army. However, it's been leased out to the private party to manage it and they have done a fair job, I must say. There is 17 cottage kind of rooms which reminds you of the colonial era. The rooms are well maintained more or less except for a few small issues. The 5-acre grounds are well looked after and you feel that you are in the middle of a forest. The food menu is limited but whatever is served is good. No complaints on this issue. Overall I would rate it 3. 5.

This is my second visit to this West View Hotel I wish this could have been my home I feel so sad at the time of check out View of the West View Hotel is so lovely and eye catching , my 8 year daughter was crying at the tiime of check out. Staff members are highely professional and caring All around of the West View Hotel is covered with lovely flowers in between there is big badminton court, you love to play their and inside the premises there is a SAI BABA temple. At night you enjoy drinks with bonfire. West view West View Hotel is approximately 130 year old and by British so enjoy like king and queen what else you want in your life I am planning to visit again with in this years.

This was my second visit to Ranikhet, I chose Westview Hotel only as I stayed at this Hotel on my last visit also. It is a wonderful property and one can spend the entire day staying at the Hotel only. All the rooms are very spacious and well decorated. Food served here are very delicious and in good variety. The Hotel is located in such a beautiful place away from all the hassle and surrounded with mesmerising views all Around. Hotel staff are well behaved and cooperative. I took their spa services and I repeated the same during my stay. One must try this service, if you are staying at this Hotel. I enjoyed every bit of my stay at this Hotel.

The West View Hotel stands in one corner of the Mall Road and is near the Jhula Devi temple. A British style heritage bungalow complex, now converted into a West View Hotel. Rooms and cottages are a little damp due to lack of sunlight inside rooms... Furniture is mostly antique... Washrooms are done up in a modern style with good toiletries and geyser hot water supply... TV has multiple channels... Food though expensive, is good... Lawns are well maintained... Good jungle walks around.

Beautiful English style cottage with fireplace and bonfire on request, excellent view polite staff and the tea is just brilliant. Nice garden all around, 2 friendly dogs to play with and swings all around to chill in

There were very few guests at this time, Staff was courteous. Room was spacious. Property well maintained.

The view from the West View Hotel is beautiful. We can see the mountain ranges. Rooms are good. Very good food. On request they made khichdi for my 3 year old daughter. Staff is very good. Would like to come back again during winter. Loved our stay.

The property is very old. while it has old world charm, they can perhaps spend some money on the interiors & make it look very good. Otherwise it's huge, neat linen, good quality food & good courteous staff.

This is a two bed room villa kind of property. Excellent for 2 family to stay. Superb food by mr go pal. The owner is also a very nice person. Its better to stay here then to stay in a big West View Hotel. Enjoyed my stay. Recommended

Good Hotel, nicely located. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are big and clean. Buffett has limited options, food is okay, Not too many facilities but sufficient if going for relax only. No BAR facility. Friendly staff.

The ambiance was good, hospitality of the people was awesome. Though food was not up to the mark. Surrounding beautiful, pine trees around. Love it. Wanted to stay here forever. Flowers were good.
