Wild Planet(30 kms from Masinagudi)

If you are looking for an action packed adventurous holiday with a group of friends or family with kids then this is the ideal location. They have a lot of outdoor activities on offer. We stayed as a family of three with a 6 year old kid. To begin with, the road leading to the resort was well marked and we didn't find any problem to get there. The road was a kacha road through coffee and tea plantations. A scenic drive to start off. The parking area is a vast open ground with ample parking space for a lot of vehicles. They will arrange pick up from the parking lot to the lobby area where we do the check in. The lobby area is located on top of a hill and is the highest point of this resort which also houses the restaurant. From there you will be again dropped off to your room in their vehicles. They offer wooden chalet type, bungalow type and tree house type cottages which are spread over a huge area. Each type of cottage offers a different sort of ambience. There is a hanging bridge across the property which gets lighted up at night and provides a good photo location. The activity hub is near the lake which is the centre point of this resort. They offer badminton court, cricket nets, football and basketball facility. They also have an indoor game area nearby which features snooker and other board games. As we enjoyed a game of badminton, our kid thoroughly enjoyed the play area. They also offer high tea in the evening by the lake side. There is another small pond in which kids boating is carried out. The nature activities are organised from the nature activity area. They offer a short trek of 1. 5 km's up a neighbouring hill just outside the resort. They will pick you and a naturalist will accompany the trekking team all the way. The trekking trail is relatively easy with tea estates on either side. The descent could be a bit tricky as it is steep at times. We couldn't go to the grassland area at the top of the hill due to heavy mist cover at the top. We particularly liked the rain forest walk organised for adults. They will provide rain coats and leech socks along with gum boots for the trail through the rain forests. It's a short walk of 2 km's listening to the sounds and experiencing the scents of lush evergreen forests. They have knowledgeable naturalists who explain every detail of the forest and are willing to clear doubts and ask questions. Special mention about mr e bin who was very informative. They were also kind enough to engage the kids in nature camping activity as we went for forest walk. We also took part in nature quiz. However we avoided the plantation walk, zip line, monkey crawl, archery, hammock climbing, floating bridge and kayaking. To enjoy all activities leisurely minimum 3 nights stay is needed otherwise you will need to keep running from one activity point to another. The swimming pool was also very good. It was located at an isolated location above the lake and requires a small walk to reach. Swimming in the clean waters against the backdrop of mist engulfed hills was a memorable experience. Food was exquisite. Our package included buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. The buffet spread on offer was exhaustive and scrumptious. Worth every penny we spend. For older people and people with walking difficulty this property could be a little tiring as it is spread out over a very large area and involves considerable walking and hiking. Of course they have pickup and drop facilities. As far as things to be improved is concerned, the cleanliness at the restaurant could be improved. A lot of house flies take away the charm of the otherwise fabulous dining experience. Also their location is inside the buffer zone of mudumalai tiger reserve. They could have opted for electric buggy rides and electric vehicles to reduce the noise and air pollution caused due to the pickup and drop vehicles plying around. The pool opening timing could be made a little earlier to enjoy an early morning swim. Overall a fantastic experience not to be missed!

Till last 6kms ,roads are excellent.Since last 6kms drive will be inside tea estate plantations,its a muddy off road type but dont worry all types of vehicles like hatchback,suv,jeeps etc can go thru easily.Since its one lane drive,just hope no vehicles frm opposite side come in,der is very very less traffic and i just faced only one vehicle frm opposite side and i had to take reverse till i found space for both vehicles to pass thru.Avoid rainy days if u hv an hatchback with bad tyres.If u hv good tyres dat hv nice grip then not to worry during rain too.Hill top view rooms are best for excellent view of forest n tea plantations and entire resort.Hill top view rooms are close to reception n resturant,so u dont hv to take the jeep service they provide which u vil hv to ,incase u stay in valley view or jungle view cottages.3 days stay vil be excellent to cover all activities inside the resort and one day u can reserve to just relax n enjoy the nature.House keeping service is very fast n prompt if u need anything .There is no room service,there is no bar ,no drinks,no mobile signal in the resort.You get wifi n bsnl only in lobby ,reception n resturant.So if u stay in hill top rooms ,it vil b easy for u to hop in to get a wifi 🙂. Play area,pool,tea shop,indoor games,zipline n all activities are at the bottom of the hill,since we stayed in hill top room,we did walking up n down the hill thru tea plantations,atleast 3 times in a day.It vil be very tiring if u dont want to take the jeep service they provide to all parts of the resort.We enjoyed our walk by avoiding the inside vehicle service,its really nice.We stayed for 4 nights and completely enjoyed it.Food is decent enough to not crib as they have varities in the buffet.All 3 meals shud have in der resturant as der is no room service.After 7pm u cant walk around due to forest nearby but come up to lobby n njoy wifi n campfire.Overall wild planet niligiris wont disappoint u .It has something for everyone!!!!

I recently had the pleasure of staying at wild planet jungle resort, a hidden gem nestled between the wayanad hills and the madhumalai tiger reserve. My experience was nothing short of magical. The moment we arrived, we were greeted by a sense of serenity. What made this stay truly special was its 'device-free zone' allowing us to disconnect and immerse ourselves in the natural beauty. We stayed here for two nights, and it was an unforgettable experience. The range of activities available truly set this place apart. The kayaking, zip-line, and an array of outdoor and indoor games kept us engaged and entertained throughout our stay. The swimming pool, with its breathtaking views of the surrounding hills, was a highlight, and climbing the hammock, embarking on the sky walk, and strolling across the london bridge all provided unforgettable moments with stunning views the staff at wild planet resort are exceptionally friendly and attentive. A big shoutout to manager subeesh, whose impeccable service made our stay seamless from check-in to checkout. The resort's meals were a culinary delight with an extensive buffet offering a wide variety of options. Every dish we tried was outstanding and left our taste buds thoroughly satisfied. Wild planet jungle resort is a rare find for those who crave a genuine connection with nature. It's a place where you can unwind, recharge, and immerse yourself in the beauty of the wild. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a unique and rejuvenating escape.

A magnificent place amid lush green and pure nature where you could unwind all your busy life hassles. Get there, loose yourself in the rare luxury that nature offers; it's very hard to find such an accessible stay right inside a rain forest. The support staff were excellent and very courteous, especially subeesh and liju who were very cooperative and attentive. The road that leads to this property from devala stretches about 7 kms and throws up a very challenging drive. Driving this stretch in a sedan is strictly not recommended due to the bad road condition, roads are uneven and filled with heavy stones and steep inclines and there's no way around to tackle them (unless you have a vehicle with proven off-road capabilities. This is where subeesh had helped us right from the start, he is very professional and explained the challenges upfront and allotted a safe spot to park our car in devala and arranged a taxi (minimal fair that need to be paid separately) from devala. Subeesh was also exceptional in creating a memorable experience by helping us plan the activities throughout our stay. Food was scrumptious, quite a spread they got in there and desserts were very impressive. Rain forest walk offered a refreshing experience, and the guide gokul is an amazing naturalist who had explained us lot of facts during the forest walk. Overall, a wonderful experience, you at least need 2 days to explore the property around there.

When you want to stay away from the busy hassle life, there are very few options around. Wild planet jungle resort is something that really isolates from the busy external world and provides a digital detox. As the name says it is a luxury jungle resort located in a very beautiful location where we here the sounds of birds, winds and experience the nature at its best. Can’t imagine how they built and maintains such a massive property in the jungle. After a 5km tough roads we reached this beautiful place. Right from the reservation to check out, everything is seamless/perfect and you won’t find any gaps/misses. Excellent hospitality by the resort staff. Food was very tasty with huge spread which you can’t forget for a long time. Many activities for adults and kids in the resort keeps us engaged and never realise how time flies there. To name a few, trekking, rain forest walk, zip lining, atv, monkey crawling, kayaking etc. This is the first time we were using mobiles only for taking pictures as there wont be network connection in room. However wi-fi can be used from resort lobby if required. It’s definitely a fantastic and memorable stay. Thanks to sachin, sabeesh during reservation, nideesh during our entire stay, raita for supporting in extension of stay, mahesh manoj and all other staff facilitated all the activities.

Wild planet jungle resort, one of the best resorts we visited. It has great picturesque in the mid of tea plantation, no network zone helps you connect with your loved ones, great activities rain-forest nature walk, kids camp, the zipline, kayaking, swimming pool in mid of nature, fire camp in night, the hanging bridge and the trekking. The jeep rides to drive between activity points. The staff here was simply amazing, they made us feel at home, very courteous & always with a smile. The last mile road to reach the resort was slight bumpy and hope that will be fixed as well very soon. Great view from the rooms near the reception area with one exception. It was our wedding anniversary visit & special thanks to mr arun nair - general manager, mr mahesh - gem, mr liju f&b manager, uday kumar who made our stay a memorable experience via a surprise candle light dinner arrangement to cherish for lifetime. We recommend this resort to enthusiasts who believe in difficult roads that end in beautiful destinations. Congratulations to the property owner & md mr mahesh for owning such a great resort & having an amazing staff. Cheers!

Resort is located remotely in forest and its excellent location. Completely surrounded by forest and tea estate, maintenance is very good. Stayed at hill top cottage, rooms and restrooms are very spacious and maintenance is excellent. Internet is not available, its available only at lobby, this is not good. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are very good and lot of varieties. Staff response is good. Approach road for 5 km is very very bad, its very tough to drive for that distance, they said some reasons for hat road, but that is not acceptable. We have to park vehicles at on place and they will take into their vehicles from that point, these different stages are little inconvenient. Only stay in resort, no way to roam out side of the resort. Inside activities or games are ok, but, they have to increase more because entertainment only inside the resort. Kids activities are nothing, they have to increase.

From devala, it is like a private road to wild planet. First 5 kms is a paved road, next 5 km is non paved single lane rocky road. Any vehicles in the opposite direction, we have to find a spot to cross each other. Only the approach road is terrible, once you reach there it is heaven. Secluded place with full of tea plantation and no other people than the ones staying at the resort. Morning, lunch and dinner buffet were good and enough variety for veg and non veg. Rooms are really clean, spacious and well designed. We booked the hilltop room, which had a beautiful view. Staff were really courteous and helpful. They make sure everyone has a pleasant experience. Have many activities for different age group. You won't feel the need to go out of the resort at all. They had a forest walk, plantation tour, kids activities, zip line, kayaking etc. Overall we enjoyed the stay like no place else.

Thrilling escape! 2 days at wild planet jungle resort felt like an adventure in paradise. Stunning wildlife, comfy lodgings, and great hospitality.

The stay was excellent we loved the environment, ambience and hospitality must visit place for family and friends.

The room was good. But the external ambience is not as shown in the promo videos. All the promos are hyped. The food taste was just average. The activity timings are very time bound hence a one day stay would not be enough to even try the activities listed.

Truly excellent and superb place, keeps u away from all worries. Resort environment rejuvenates your thoughts. Very well managed staff and takes care of u, are good mannered and hospitable.

It's worth the cost. Great views in the middle of the forest. Surrounded by mountains and tea plantations. Neat luxurious rooms. Courteous staff

Our stay at wild planet was excellent. Initially we need to experience drive through off roads and will reach blissful wild planet resort. Great place surrounded with lush green forest, it’s calm and silent place where we have our own good space. Food was great, staff were very good at their service and activities were nice.

This is one of the best resorts i have ever stayed in south india. Stunning view, amazing food and awesome hospitality. The price is super reasonable for the kind of experience you get here. You will never return back disappointed.

Lovely place, with serene surroundings and fresh air to breathe! they have activities like nature walk, kids camping activity and rainforest walk. You will really experience nature first hand! go for it!

Serene location,calm and attractive campus,delicious food,courteous staff and plenty ofcat-site activities make this an absolute must visit place for families.A recommendation would be to use battery driven buggy cars for transport within the resort , to make it more environment friendly and visually pleasing experience.

It was a pleasure staying at wild planet. Good stay, lot of outdoor activities, great good, great people around you. You must stay at least for 3 nights to enjoy all the activities otherwise you will get tired. Rooms are very clean & hospitality is just too wonderful. Beautiful & adventurous place to stay with family.
