the room cleaning must upgrade

The cafe has a great view and the staff were excellent, from Nishkarsh at the front desk who kept track of my arrival, to the cafe staff and kitchen staff who were so pleasant and helpful, and worked hard all day. I enjoyed the cafe food - the poha, shakes, daal, chawal. It was easy to find out the ingredients and make sure my food allergies would not be triggered. They included me in their Diwali celebrations, we made a Rangoli together. Met some nice people in the dorm. The upper bunk was a bit squeaky but i guess that happens. It's about 100 steps down from the main road. So do keep that in mind. Nishkarsh informed me and offered to send someone to help me with my bags, but I was able to manage. Also, they have a separate work space with big desks, apart from the cafe, which is good if you need quiet to study or work.

It was our first Zostel experience and it didnt disappoint. The stay was amazing with some good friends made at the zostel. The vibe of the place is too homely. The food is amazing. Dont forget to drink hot chocolate or order chicken curry and rice. Special mention to Rajat and Nishkarsh for making the Bonfire nights so amazing and memorable.

We had such an amazing time at Zostel McLeod Ganj! The staff was incredibly polite, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. We were a group of six girls, and since the 6-bed female dorm was full, they kindly gave us two 4-bed dorms and kept one completely private for our safety — which meant so much to us. The rooms were spotless, bathrooms super hygienic, and the overall vibe was so warm and welcoming. A special shoutout to Rajat at the food court — he’s extremely polite and always ready to help! The senior chef (though I forgot his name) deserves huge appreciation — the food was absolutely delicious. They even arranged a fun bonfire night and had plenty of games and activities in the food court area, which made our evenings extra fun. Honestly, I don’t understand how this place — it truly deserves a solid 5-star for its hospitality, cleanliness, and safety. As a group of girls, we felt completely safe and well cared for. I had a wonderful stay at this hotel! The location is absolutely stunning — surrounded by beautiful mountains and breathtaking views that make it perfect for a peaceful getaway. first you will need to climb down 30 steps to reach the hotel. staff not so supportive and cafe is overpriced.

This property of Zostel is very inconvenient to reach. Too many stairs to carry the luggage. Be mentally prepared for it. Every time you need to come to market it’s a 15 min hard walk. The staffs do not help in carrying any luggage. From tax stop to the property you have to carry all your luggage, so make sure you have few stuffs to carry all at once. Same thing at check out, even more difficult as you have to climb the stairs.

While the food and location were positives, the rest of our Suite experience was unacceptable. Our room was unclean upon check-in, with hair on the bed and stained linens. Service was consistently lacking. We experienced severe water issues for two days, including a full outage and then only a very slow flow of cold water. The staff's handling of these issues was dismissive and showed a lack of urgency. For the price of a Suite, we expected a higher level of cleanliness and significantly better service.
