Zostel Plus Mussoorie (Kempty)

We stayed for 4 nights in a private room at zostel mussourie. Good things first. The property is really beautiful and the room was very spacious, clean and beautifully done. We had an excellent view from the room and there was 24/7 hot water in the bathroom. There was a water heater in the room too. They have a cafe - though pricey, the food was good. The common area was also amazing. Gaurav was our go to person for all the activities and he was so sweet and amazingly helpful. He even taught us some pahadi dance on one of the group nights and we had lot of fun. Saloni helped us with the check in and she was very kind too. These were the only two people we had to deal with in the zostel ) now coming to the minus 1 star part - this propert being far from the library chowk/main area of mussourie, you dont have many options to roam around unless you have a car on your own or brave enough to ride the bike through the uphill roads. We ended up relying on zostel for our sight seeing trips and we felt the cab drivers just robbed us off. We came to mussourie from rishikesh in a cab and paid 3. 5k - while we ended up paying 3k for a cab to visit lal tibba from zostel plus the rude behavior of driver to add with. We paid 2. 5k to visit george everest, 2k to visit dalai hills and 2. 5k to visit corn village. So if you dont get enough people from zostel to do these trips the per person share is going to increase. So keep this in mind while you book this property. They give you a heater if you are in a private room which is a good thing - but considering the size of the room, the heater doesnt do any thing at all. There was some work happening in the zostel and the workers were hijacking almost all the areas, playing music or bantering, so it became lil dfclt to find a quite place to sit and read. Most of my mornings were spend in a little tea shop which served amazing cofis, teas and parathas. The place is called the gharaat - the next shop to rawat ji ki tapri.

Quite useless for solo travellers. It's a good thing that there are 2 nearby food outlets outside the zostel plus mussorie otherwise if this was the only place to eat, it would have been a pathetic scene. 1. There is nothing on the menu for a single person to order. For each order one needs at least 2-3 people to share. No individual meal plates, bowls nothing. (learn from zostel plus rishikesh menu how they have designed the menu suitable for every type of traveller) 2. Half the menu items are always out of stock. 3. Menu is also incomplete. There are food items which you can order which are not on the menu. Sad thing is, that you only get to know about those after seeing them on other guests' plates. 3. The food is super oily. If you are staying for a longer duration, god bless your digestive system. You simply can't eat everyday there. Have to checkout other places. 4. The order rules are totally random. From the same breakfast section of the menu, you can order some items for lunch and some items you cannot. That also changes from server to server. It all depends on the mood of the guy sitting behind the counter. 5. Seating is highly uncomfortable. Solid wooden stools, benches with no back support. Can't sit for a longer time. 6. There are no set timings for the place to open. Sometimes it will be opened at 8. 30am. Sometimes, it will be closed till 9. 15am. Again, it works as per the whims of the staff. Would strongly recommend the owner to re-evaluate and perhaps learn from other zostels how they have designed the menu. The property is beautiful, the location is amazing. I had one of my best travel stays here. This lovely scenic property is located in the midst of lush green mountains of kempty (approx. 30 mins from mussoorie mall road. It is a huge property with ample space to walk, work and play. The dorms and private rooms are upto the mark and quite well maintained. Apart from the location and infra of the property, what i loved the most is the property management & hospitality here. Mr. Sachin [ property manager ] was a wonderful host - humble, helpful and active throughout the day to keep the guests engaged in different activities like treks, evening bonfire, indoor games, etc. Staff member amit was also very helpful every-time anyone needed any assistance. The in-house cafe served great food as well. My stay couldn't have been enjoyable without the fellow guests here (who had come from various parts of india. Although i had come on a solo travel here, i truly enjoyed the company of some amazing people i met, who just added to the vibe. To sum it up, if you are looking for peace ( away from the city hustle bustle) then this is the perfect stay destination for you - worth every single penny!

Property is located at a great location. The room was pretty and spacious with a beautiful scenic view. That place also had a river nearby and mossy waterfall up the hill. Also they provide you a complementary adventure sport and rest of them can be availed at a minimum price. Food was available at cafe kothar, everything we ordered tasted very delicious. They also had a common room which held many games and other commodities. At the night of our arrival they had arranged a bonfire night. Though we had no issue with their ‘self service’ but it got a little frustrating at times because out room was on top floor so each time we had to go down to fulfil the basic amenities then hike our way up . Inspite of that it was a beautiful experience.

We had a great stay here. It was hell of an experience with zostel mussoorie. Especially their community manager harshil, gupta took a lot of efforts to maintain the satisfaction rate. We explored so many placed in terms of activities and he helped us arrange all of them. They also have a meal plan in cafe which is decent. But the property is just wow. They have bonfire every alternate days and the owner herself is at the desk at times. The common room is spacious and you can enjoy playing tt. We covered places like landour, secret waterfall, sainji village, gorge everest, etc. I want to visit this place again asap.

The property is secluded and might be hard to find, but once you reach there, you won't mind it. There is ample parking for cars as well as two wheelers. Entire place is accessible by wheelchair ( although some places the slope is steep. Rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and well maintained. Personally met a lot of interesting people there and had a lot of fun. One of the best properties of zostel. One thing that can be improved is food. There is a restaurant on campus, but food there is average, prices are not. Would love to have a few food options as there is no other place to eat nearby.

Zostel mussoorie is located in a very picturesque valley 10 mins from kempty fall. It’s a secluded property with a running stream right next to it and much away from the hustle bustle of mussoorie. I stayed in the tree house with in itself was an amazing experience. It’s cute little house company with a seating area on the second floor. The food is cooked fresh and everything i ordered was very good. The location of the canteen makes the experience even more wonderful. The staff and the people managing the place make the place more warm and enjoyable. Ensuring our comfort at all times.

It was my first solo trip and i must say that booking zostel room was my best decision! the journey becomes beautiful with people and i met amazing people here. Staffs and the host ( sahar iqbaal) they all were extremely sweet and cooperative. Sahar has been a wonderful host.

Worth money and clean good staff

Zostel mussoorie is a place built right out of one's dream. I was greeted by spacious dorms, with comfortable beds. I was staying in mixed dorm, i felt so secure among men there. The common area was lit and i made some of the best people there. I had arrived there solo, but was always among-st lovely group of people. The cafe offers great food, i especially recommend chessy omlette and pancakes. My overall experience in zostel was just ecstatic. I don't think i can settle for any lower expectations after this. Thank you zostel.

It was okay. It could have been better. But the property is good and it seems that there has been development nearby as well.

It was a great experience. Everyone was very sweet and helpful and we enjoyed ourselves. The food in the cafe was very tasty and affordable plus the activities provided by the hostel were very fun. We stayed in the tree house which was very cozy and cute. Definitely planning to come here again.

All staff members were so welcoming special mention to "saher" - community manager cum our tourist guide property views was good and well maintained property.

It was my first and best experience in zostel. Great staff especially sachin bhai. He engages with everyone and feels like friends. He also manages and creates activities to be done daily. Will surely visit again.
