About Kuwait Airways
Kuwait Airways is the national airline and national flag carrier of Kuwait and is member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization. It was formed by a group of Kuwaiti businessmen in 1953 but started to operate in 1954. International flights are operated throughout the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, Europe, Southeast Asia and North America. Government has taken its 50% share. In 1963 the government has increased its participant to 100%. The main base of this airline is situated at Kuwait International Airport and from this airport flights to various domestic and international destinations are operated. Kuwait Airways is the member of the Arab Air carriers Organization and it connects 41 destinations to Kuwait city worldwide. The fleet of this airline is consists of 17 aircrafts which include three A320, 200s, three A310, 300s, five A300, 605Rs, four A340, 300s and two Boeing B777s. Web check-in and verification
Passengers are advised to web checkin if their passport is valid for long enough in order to enter the destination country. Countries can have different passport validity requirements, for example, minimum 6 months from arrival date, minimum 3 months from arrival date, valid on the date of arrival or valid 3 months beyond the planned stay in the destination country.
Baggage Allowance
Kuwait Airways allows for the economy class, 2 (23 kg each piece) baggage with maximum dimension 158 cm, 2 (32 kg each piece) baggage for business class/first class, 3 (32 kg each piece) baggage for royal class and 1 (10kgs) not exceeding total dimensions 115 cm for infants.
In addition to the hand baggage allowance, passengers can also carry personal items such as one small ladies’ handbag; one coat; one umbrella; one pair of crutches or walking stick; an infant's carrying basket; and one bag of duty-free items purchased on the day of flight.
Passengers are only allowed to carry onboard a limited quantity of liquids, aerosols and gels in containers that do not exceed the capacity of 100 ml each.
Dangerous goods are classified as items or substances that may pose health and safety hazards to customers. The transport of these goods is regulated by the Civil Aviation Regulations, and they are generally not allowed in either cabin baggage or checked baggage, with some exceptions.
In-flight services
Kuwait Airways aims at providing customer-oriented services that meet the individual needs and preferences of their clients. Kuwait Airways offers a standard menu meal on board, and also caters to passengers who need certain types of food based on health requirements or religious grounds. Variety of limited pre-packaged baby food, such as fruit and vegetable purees, can be requested on flight. A bland meal can be served to those with stomach disorder or digestive tract issues. They also serve meal for diabetic patients, which consists high amount of carbohydrates, starch and sugar. Likewise, they have other options as per the preference of the passengers.
Other services that Kuwait Airways provides are blankets, headsets for viewing movies, sleeping blinds, reading materials including newspapers and magazines, advance seat selection online, seats with more leg room subject to availability, carry cot for infants less than two years old, toys and complementary items for children and F/J passengers.
