SAUDIA, also known as Saudi Arabian Airlines started out in 1945 with a single twin-engine gifted to King Abdul Aziz by US President Franklin D. Roosevelt. This was followed months later with the purchase of two more aircrafts, and these formed the nucleus of what in a few years was to become one of the world's largest airlines. SAUDIA is the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia and its main operational base is situated at the King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED). The airline also has other hubs, which are the Riyadh-King Khalid International Airport (RUH) and the Dammam-King Fahd International Airport (DMM). It is a member of the Arab Air Carriers Organization and the SkyTeam.
