About Qantas Airways
The Qantas Airways is one of the leading airlines in Australia as it has developed gradually in tandem with the civil aviation development in the continent. Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services Ltd, knows as Qantas, was established on 16th November 1920 by Sir Hudson Fysh KBE DFC, Paul McGinness DFC DCM and Sir Fergus McMaster. Around July-September 1959 Qantas Airways acquired seven Boeing 707-138 jet aircrafts. The national animal of Australia, Kangaroo, features on the logo of the airline and its design is adopted from one penny coin of Australia. British Airways bid for a 25 per cent stake in Qantas with an investment worth 665 million Australian dollars in December 1992 and acquired the same in March 1993. Qantas Airways celebrated its 75th anniversary in 1995 and introduced a new logo of a winged kangaroo with words 75 years to mark the milestone.
