About Bangkok Airways
Bangkok Airways was the first airline to become operational in Thailand under the name 'Sahakol Air'. The airline commenced its services in the year 1968, when it flew its first aircraft, Trade Wind, which was a nine-seater plane. The airline got orders for charter planes from various companies like OICC, USOM and others. Owing to the boom in tourism and business investment in the country, aviation industry gained prime importance. Bangkok Airways was formed to meet the increasing demands of the people and country’s economic growth. Back then, the schedule of Bangkok Airways flights covered Surin, Krabi and Korat. At present, the airline offers air tickets to major tourist destinations in Thailand across 20 different air routes. It also lets customers book flights at low air fare to international destinations like India, Bangladesh, Maldives, Singapore, Malaysia, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar. Bangkok Airways is also the owner of privately-operated airports at Trat, Sukhothai and Samui. These airports, maintained and developed by the Bangkok Airways, have provided the country with several aviation hubs that help in managing increasing air traffic. The airline also lets passengers book tickets to any destination with its online booking facility. Apart from booking online, travellers can also use the web check-in facility from where they can choose their seats as well.
