About Antigua and Barbuda (AG)
Situated in the Caribbean Sea, the islands of Antigua and Barbuda constitute a distinct tropical destination with natural and historical attractions. Dry, cool and humid, hot are the only two seasons in the island cluster. Antigua has a mountainous terrain with several beaches. Shirley Heights is a hiking hotspot with a viewpoint and restaurant at its summit offering gorgeous views of the surrounding waters. Some trekking trails can be found at Galleon Beach on the southernmost tip of Antigua near English Harbour. Galleon Beach also offers a few snorkelling spots. Scooter snorkelling is a popular activity here. Half Moon Bay, an idyllic beach on the southeastern part of Antigua, can only be reached through a winding trek. Another unique attraction towards the eastern shores is Devil’s Bridge, which is also the confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and Caribbean Sea. Apart from natural wonders, Nelson’s Dockyard in Antigua is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, with restaurants and shopping centres. Barbuda is smaller than Antigua. Frigate Bird Sanctuary in the lagoon of Wa-Omoni Beach Park is a birdwatcher’s paradise. On the same island, Barbuda Caves featuring Darby Cave and Dark Cave are other natural wonders that should not be missed. Barbuda is also famed for its pink-sand beach that stretches almost 13 km.
