Tiger Airways Checked Baggage Allowance

  • Amount of free checked baggage allowance on all Tiger Airways flights depends on the weight and dimensions of baggage, along with the type of ticket.
  • It will be the least expensive if you purchase while booking, a bit more expensive if you buy later on using their website, and the most expensive if you add it to your ticket at the airport.
  • Add baggage to your ticket, using the Tigerair website, until two hours before flight departure.
  • Check in baggage must not exceed 30 kg per bag.

Tiger Airways Extra Baggage Charges

  • 15 kg or 20 kg additional check-in baggage can be purchased using the website or at the airport. If your bag weighs over 20 kg, charges would be dependent on the availability of space on the aircraft and excess weight in kg.
  • For instance, for short-haul flights, 12-15 kg of checked baggage would cost you AUD 75, and an addition of 1 kg would cost AUD 20 per kg.

Tiger Airways baggage rules

  • If you are carrying prescription medicine and injectables, you would need a doctor’s prescription. These items might be subjected to security checks.
  • As long as sporting equipment and musical instruments are smaller than specified dimensions and are well packed in cardboard boxes or soft cases, you can include them as a part of your free checked baggage.
