Comparatively new in origin, Scoot Tigerair Pte Ltd (operating as Scoot), is a Singaporean low-cost airline owned by Singapore Airlines, which has fared extremely well in the competitive aviation industry. Scoot has positioned itself as an airline for the young-at-heart and the value seeking generation of today. Scoot offers an impeccable delivery service with personality, a contemporary feel and the choice to only pay for what matters to passengers. The airline announced itself on November 1st 2011 and, since then, it has grown spectacularly.

Web check-in and verification


Passengers flying with Scoot can complete web check-in through their mobiles or through the web according to their convenience.
Web Check-in is available for an individual or group travellers, guests with only carry-on baggage or check-in baggage and point-to-point journeys (i.e. no flight connections).
However, Web Check-in is not available for: guests who require special assistance, bookings made through group travel agents, journeys with multiple connecting flights, standby, staff and duty travel bookings, guests who have purchased MaxYourSpace (option to purchase up to 2 empty seats next to the reserved seat), guests who are awaiting confirmation of their MaxYourSpace or guests travelling with infants.
For self check-in, passengers need to reach the airport at least an hour before departure.

Baggage allowance


For economy class, cabin baggage should be limited to 2 pieces including a laptop or handbag with a combined weight not exceeding 10 kg. Regardless of class, cabin baggage cannot exceed the dimensions of 54cm x 38cm x 23cm (total linear dimensions cannot exceed 115cm).
Scoot’s extra cabin bag option allows guests in Economy class to purchase an extra 7 kg cabin baggage allowance, in addition to the standard 10 kg already provided. On the other hand, standard checked baggage can weigh no more than 20 kg. Sporting equipment – such as golf clubs, surfboards, canoes, scuba diving apparel, skis and bicycles – count towards free baggage allowance.

Passport and Visa Information


Passengers should ensure they are in possession of valid travel documentation and meet the entry requirements, e.g. entry visa or transit visa, for all points of travel, including the country or countries they are visiting or transiting.
To avoid any confusion, passengers can check with the relevant consulate or embassy before the trip. If they are eligible for an electronic visa, they can simply “Get-a-Visa” via Scoot!
Pregnant ladies, provided they have no complications with their pregnancy, may travel up to the end of the 36th week of pregnancy for single pregnancies, or up to the end of the 32nd week for multiple pregnancies (e.g. twins).
Infants must be at least 8 days old to travel and must travel with an accompanying adult who is at least 18 years old. Unless a seat is purchased for the infant, the infant must be held on the adult’s lap for the duration of the flight, for which infant seat belts are available. Scoot does not currently allow, nor provide, bassinets on board flights.

Every Scoot flight is stocked with a wide variety of products that include Scoot memorabilia, cosmetics, fragrances, chic accessories, liquor and more. Passengers can also enjoy inflight Wi-Fi connectivity when flying on their fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The airline also offers in-seat power outlets, so passengers can use their phones without having to worry about running out of battery. With ScooTV, passengers can watch their favorite movies and TV shows, and there’s something for everyone.
