From 4th May 2021, any passenger who has been in India during the last 14 days before departure will not be allowed to enter Nigeria. This does not apply to anyone transiting through India. Below guidelines will be subject to confirmation by Nigeria once the travel ban lifts.

 

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

  • Indian nationals who have been in India in the last 14 days before departure cannot enter Nigeria as per the latest travel ban. This does not apply to anyone transiting through India. Below guidelines are for passengers whose travel does NOT originate in India.
  • Travel is open for stranded Nigerian nationals/residents, any Indian national holding any type of valid Nigerian visa and destined for any country in Africa; foreign nationals destined for Africa and transiting through Nigeria or spouses of these persons (accompanying or otherwise).
  • Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed to travel subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping.

 

Can non-Indians travel?

  • Yes, Nigeria is open to most nationalities.
  • However, any person who has visited Brazil, India, or Turkey in the last 14 days before departure cannot currently enter Nigeria. This regulation does not apply to passengers who have transited through these countries.

 

Are there any destination restrictions?

  • Yes, travel from Brazil, India and Turkey is not allowed.

 

Are there any pre-registration or app requirements?

  • Passengers allowed to enter Nigeria must fill out a ‘Health Declaration Form’ that will be handed over to them on the flight.

 

Mandatory quarantine duration for Indians: 7 days (for those eligible to travel)

Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules:

  • Passengers must carry a negative RT-PCR test with them. Sample should have been taken 72 hours before boarding.
  • They must quarantine for 7 days upon the arrival.

  • NOTE: While in quarantine, no interstate travel is allowed. The entire isolation period must be spent in the quarantine facility in the city of arrival.

  • Travel is open for:
    • Stranded nationals/residents of Rwanda, foreign nationals destined for Africa and transiting through Rwanda or spouses of these persons, whether accompanying or otherwise.
    • Any Indian national or national of Nepal or Bhutan destined for any country in Africa and holding a valid visa for the destination country. It would be for the airlines concerned to ensure that there is no travel restriction for Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese nationals to enter the destination country with the particular visa category before issue of ticket / boarding pass to the Indian/ Nepalese/Bhutanese passenger.
    • Seamen of foreign nationalities and Seamen holding Indian passports would be allowed subject to clearance from the Ministry of Shipping. Seamen should be destined to countries of Africa only.
  • All travelers arriving in Rwanda must complete the passenger locator form and upload their negative COVID-19 test certificate prior to arrival.
  • On arrival, every traveler must proceed to a government-designated hotel for a second COVID-19 test.

  • All travellers are required to wait 24 hours for the results of their COVID-19 test in a designated transit hotel.
  • After the travellers reach their designated hotels, they will be tested for COVID-19 and there will be a medical team to assist for a total cost of 60 USD (includes 50 USD for the test and a medical service fee of 10 USD). Test results will be received by SMS or email, and the turnaround time for results is 24 hours from the time a sample is collected. Airline Guidelines & Other Important Information:

  • Indian Passport holders are allowed to exit Mumbai on below mentioned visas:
    • Tourist Visas: Approved by the country of visit along with OK to Board.
    • Business Visas: Allowed, provided passenger has confirmed return ticket and hotel stay.
    • Work Permit: Allowed, provided passenger carries proper Work Visa and supplementing letters of his/her employment.
    • Residence Permit/ Residence ID Card: Allowed to exit Mumbai if holding residence visas or resident ID card.
    • Foreign Passport holders are allowed to exit Mumbai if they are returning back to their home country. Immigration will check if the Indian Visa is valid. If the visa has expired, then passengers will have to apply for an extension.
    • A COVID-19 Test is mandatory for all passengers arriving to or departing from Mumbai. The test should be performed in an approved lab and the report should contain ICMR Nbr, RTPCR, COVID negative result. It should also be stamped and signed by the authorised signatory. Handwritten test reports will not be accepted.
    • On arrival in Mumbai:
    • Passengers will need to carry a negative COVID-19 report. The test should be performed 72 hours prior. Any test done further than 72 hours wouldn’t be accepted and the passengers will have to perform the test again on arrival and the same would take more than 8-10 hours and the passengers will have to wait at the airport till then.
    • All passengers have to download Aarogya Setu App also on arrival.
    • Passengers can also upload their COVID negative report on www.newdelhiairport.in and select the option of Air Suvidha. Once uploaded, there will be a reference NBR which has to be given to the MCGM on arrival in Mumbai. (This is handy for passengers who are on business visit as they will be returning back and wouldn’t be required to quarantine themselves.)
    • On departure from Mumbai:
    • Passengers will need to carry valid COVID negative reports. The date of the report will depend on the guidelines issued by the country of visit. (Some countries need the report within 72 hours or 96 hours etc)
    • They also need a Real Time-Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) COVID-19 test with samples taken within 120 hours of departure (meaning travellers must be tested and get results within 5 days of their first flight). Other tests, such as Rapid Diagnostics Test (RDTs), are not accepted.
    • Passengers departing Rwanda can book for a Covid-19 test on http://www.rbc.gov.rw/, or by calling +250 788 633 948; +250 788 422 287 (a test fee will apply).
    • Passengers are required to book a hotel for 24 hours from the list of designated hotels https://www.rbc.gov.rw/travel/src/Passengers%20Info%20-%20Designated%20hotels.pdf and complete the electronic Passenger Locator Form (PLF) available on Rwanda Biomedical Center website. https://rbc.gov.rw/travel/
    • ​A second test will be conducted at the designated hotel and results will be available within 24 hours. Passengers must remain in the designated hotel as they await test results.

Cambodia

  • Only passengers approved by Embassy of Cambodia / Government of India are permitted to travel

  • Foreign nationals entering Cambodia are required to have a visa before arrival. Visa on arrival is suspended.

  • The foreign passenger cannot enter Cambodia without at least a $50,000 medical insurance.

  • Even if one passenger coming from a flight is tested positive, each passenger of that flight shall be quarantined.

  • If a passenger is tested positive, he has to pay for the quarantine- $225 per day.

  • For COVID negative people, charges for the quarantine facility amount to $84.

From 13th May, 2021, Maldives has suspended the entry of all categories of visa holders (including tourists) from India till further notice.   • Travellers to Maldives (including tourists) who are carrying a vaccination certificate and have completed their final dose of Covid-19 vaccination 2 weeks prior to travel do not need to carry a negative PCR test.
  • Mandatory guidelines for the vaccination certificate:
    • The vaccine must be approved by the World Health Organization Emergency Use Listing (EUL) or the Maldives Food and Drug Authority, or any other competent authority of the respective countries
    • The passenger should have completed the second dose or prescribed dose(s) of the vaccine, and at least l4 (fourteen) should have passed after the second dose or the completion of prescribed dose(s)
    • The Vaccine Certificate must contain:
      • Full Name and Date of birth of the Passenger
      • Name of the Vaccine (brand name)
      • Dates of receiving both the doses or prescribed does(s)
      • Name of lnstitution/Organisation that administered the vaccine
  • For Flights from Maldives to India:
  • Passengers must carry a negative RT-PCR test conducted 72 hours before boarding. Tourists can contact their hotels in Maldives to book the self-paid RT-PCR test. Once they receive their negative test result, it will have to be uploaded on the Air Suvidha portal. NOTE: There will be no quarantine for travellers on flights from Maldives, provided they have a negative RT-PCT rest report.

Quarantine & Testing Rules:

  • All passengers arriving in Oman are required to present a negative COVID-19 PCR test conducted within 72 hours prior to the scheduled time of arrival in Oman. The test shall be a validated and certified medical test result written in Arabic or English.
  • All passengers arriving to the Sultanate of Oman are required to have international health insurance covering the cost of treatment from COVID-19 for one month except for citizens, GCC nationals and passengers with free treatment card.
  • Before departure to the Sultanate of Oman, passengers must complete pre-registration via https://covid19.emushrif.om/traveler/travel for the PCR test in Oman, pay the twenty-five (25) OMR test fees and download Tarassud+. Airlines must not check in any passenger who did not complete this requirement.
  • All passengers arriving to the Sultanate of Oman are subject to COVID-19 PCR test on arrival, (Tarrasud+) bracelet, quarantine for seven (7) days and COVID-19 (PCR) test on the eighth day.
  • Aircraft crews, and children from aged 15 years and less are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test and Tarassud+ bracelet.
  • Diplomats working at foreign embassies accredited to the Sultanate of Oman and diplomats visiting the Sultanate are exempted from COVID-19 PCR test, Tarassud+ and the bracelet however, they are subject to a seven-day quarantine.
  • Following category are exempted from presenting pre-confirmed hotel reservations before they are checked in at the airport of departure:
    • Omani Nationals. But they must undergo home quarantine as advised by the Health officials on arrival.
    • Diplomats working at foreign diplomatic missions accredited to the Sultanate, diplomats visiting the Sultanate and their families.
    • Arrivals from age of 18 and less if travelling alone, and arrivals at the age of 60 and above.
    • Aircrew, subject to the precautionary measures issued by the Ministry of Health.
    • Sick passengers whose health conditions require special attention as per the attached health form. The exception includes two companions with female or under 18 years old patients and only one companion with male patient above 18
    • Holders of permits for private institutional isolation centers that are pre-approved by the Relief & Shelter Sector.
    • For sea crews moored in the territorial waters if the Sultanate, airlines are obliged to ensure that there is a hotel reservation covering the duration of their stay in Oman based on the letter of the shipping agent

  • Passengers travelling for a period of up to 7 days must undergo COVID-19 PCR test upon arrival and are required to pay a sum of OMR 25 for the test through the Tarassud+ App.

South Korea

Visa and Immigration Related Information:

  • Travelling to South Korea with a short-term visa (type C1 and C4) issued on or post April 5, 2020, is not possible.
  • Visa exemption for passports from 90 countries has been temporarily halted (except airline staff and passengers with an APEC Business Travel Card).
  • People with visas granted by the Wuhan Consulate in the Hubei Province will not be considered valid. Even passengers who have entered the Hubei Province in the last two weeks are not permitted to arrive in or transit through South Korea. Chinese citizens with a passport issued in the Hubei Province are not allowed to enter or transit through South Korea.
  • People who are coming from China (People’s Rep) must have a visa issued by Korea (Rep) to transit through the Republic of Korea unless they have a British, diplomatic, consular, official, service or special passport or are citizens of Albania, Andorra, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Ireland, Korea (Rep.), Malta, Mexico, Monaco, Nicaragua, Palau, San Marino, Slovenia, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, the United States of America, Vatican City (Holy See) and Venezuela.
  • Citizens of Mongolia, the Russian Federation and Thailand are not qualified to transit through South Korea if they are coming from or going to these countries. This rule does not pertain to airline personnel.
  • Passengers who have a visa on an expired passport, have to submit a Visa Grant Notice along with the expired passport upon arrival.

Mandatory Quarantine & Testing Rules:

 

  • Every passenger entering South Korea must quarantine for 2 weeks and undergo a PCR test for COVID-19 within 3 days of arrival.
  • Business travellers who are nationals of the Republic of China travelling under the Fast Lane program, along with their families are exempt from quarantine.
  • Passengers are required to self-monitor their health 14 days before departing for South Korea.

  • People who are citizens and residents of the Republic of Korea have to install ’self-quarantine safety protection mobile app’.
  • Passengers and airline staffs are required to download ’Self-Diagnosis Mobile App’ on their personal devices.
  • Also, they must submit a completed Health Declaration Form and a Special Quarantine Declaration Form to the quarantine desk on arrival.

  • Fights will come to the Incheon International Airport (ICN) between 5 a.m. and 8 p.m
  • People with a Re-Entry Permit issued by the Republic of Korea who departed from Korea after 1 June 2020 must have a medical certificate (signed by a medical examiner) in English or Korean issued by an authorised local medical institute by 48 hours from the departure time. The certificate must have the date of examination, presence of symptoms like headache, fever, colds, cough, breathing issues, pain in the muscles and pulmonary symptoms. People with the following statuses are exempt from the required certificate: Diplomats (A-1), Government Officials (A-2, A-3) or Overseas Korean (F-4).

    • Travellers must undergo a second test depending on the duration of their stay at the Safe & Secure certified Level 1 hotel. For those staying between 5-14 days, the second PCR test (called exit PCR) will be done one day before their departure from Sri Lanka. For those staying for longer than 14 days, second PCR test will be done on day 11 to 14.

    • In-charge officer at the Safe & Secure Certified Level 1 Hotel will verify the status of vaccination (through documents) and issue a ‘Discharge Document’.

  • Take a PCR test upon arrival in Amsterdam

 

Passengers exempted from COVID-19 PCR test before arrival are as follows:

o   Children under 13 years.

o   People coming from countries deemed ‘safe’ by the EU (see the list of safe countries here.)

o   Cross-border commuters (including students and school children).

o   Holders of a diplomatic identity card issued by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

o   Holders of non-Dutch diplomatic passports.

o   Heads of state and members of foreign governments.

o   Individuals who work in the goods transport sector, and other transportation personnel in so far as necessary. This includes lorry drivers and individuals who work on container ships, bulk carriers (e.g. of ore and coal), tankers (fuel and chemicals) and fishing vessels. It also includes individuals who work in the energy sector, including oil and gas platforms and offshore wind farms, offshore companies that provide services to this sector, and air, cruise-ship and ferry crew members if they are travelling in order to perform their job.

o   Seafarers who possess a seaman’s record book if they are travelling as part of their job, in order to perform work in the Netherlands or after performing work in the Netherlands. This exemption does not apply to seafarers on commercial yachts and pleasure craft.

o   Passengers on flights, which do not have a Dutch airport as their destination, but are diverted to a Dutch airport due to unforeseen circumstances.

    • Diplomats
    • Indian nationals with a valid visa and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders with passports issued by and destined to any country in the EU/Schengen area, South America or Africa only

From 23rd April ’21, all flights from India to Canada stand suspended for 30 days and Indian nationals are not allowed entry to Canada during this period. Below guidelines are subject to confirmation by Canada once flights resume and new orders are issued.

What are the eligibility criteria/visa requirements for Indians?

  • Permanent Residents, immediate & extended family members of Canadian citizens (with valid visas) and those with temporary work permits/student visas can travel. Please check below to see if you are eligible.
  • You can travel to Canada if you are:
  • An immediate or extended family member of a Canadian citizen or Permanent Resident who is staying in Canada for 15 days of more (extended family members are required to submit a letter of authorization from the Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)). Full details here.
  • A person who is authorised by the Public Health Agency of Canada to travel to Canada for compassionate reasons. Click here to apply.
