The Banana City of Bihar
Because of its location between the Ganges River and the Koshi River, Naugachhia is completely encircled by water on both of its sides. Yellow maize is one of its most well-known exports and a primary source of revenue. In addition to this, it is also frequently referred to as the "Kelanchal of Bihar" (producer of bananas). Since the construction of the ring dam on two of its borders, Naugachia no longer has to worry about being flooded as regularly as it did before the dam was erected. Because much of Bhagalpur's economic activity takes place in Naugachia and the city does not have a railway line, the only method to get from Bhagalpur to NH 31 is by crossing the Vikramshila Bridge. This bridge is located between the two cities.
