Overview

Located in the Uppalapadu village, about an hour away from Amaravati, this place is known for its unique water tanks and wire-mesh trees (installed by the Forest Department) used by migratory birds to build nests.

What To Expect?

Visit the bird centre located just at the village entrance. Take a stroll along the lake. Climb the watch tower to check out many migratory bird species and the endangered ones like painted stork and spot-billed pelicans.

Tips

The timings are 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on all days of the week.
October to March is the best time, when most of the migratory birds land at the water tanks.
The best time to watch the little cormorant is July to September and November to February.
Catch the painted stork in action from October to April and the black-headed ibis from June to March.
