Whenever I hear someone talking about Goa, I am taken back to memories of our awesome Goa trip. It was 4 years ago but whenever we plan a new trip anywhere, we still remember this one.

It was our best trip till date and the credit goes to the hotel where we stayed – a resort called ‘Dona Sylvia Beach Resort’ at Cavelossim Beach in South Goa. It is away from the hustle bustle of the city, which makes it perfect for a relaxed trip with kids.

We planned a 4 day 5 nights trip and it was an ‘all meal included’ package. We took a train from Bengaluru to Goa as our kids wanted to travel in a train. We received a warm welcome at the entrance and the thing which immediately caught our attention was the lush green gardens and landscapes.

As we had reached around lunch time, we took the lunch buffet and the food was really good. There were many different options for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The kids also loved it as there was a live pasta counter and many such options.

The resort has air-conditioned villas and apartments.  We stayed in a cottage room which had an old world charm to it. There was a big verandah and an open area in the front with a nice sit-out. The staff was also very friendly and helpful.

The best thing was our sea facing room with lot of greenery in the front. The beach was visible from our room and at a walkable distance.

Cavelossim is a neat and clean beach, and not crowded at all. It is a perfect place for a relaxed holiday, especially if you are going with kids and don’t want to run around much.

As this was our first trip to Goa, we wanted to see North Goa too. We planned a visit to the church and Fort Aguada on the second day.

On the third day, we hired a scooter to explore the town. It was fun and a different experience. The scooters and bikes are available right outside the resort. There is a place nearby to enjoy water sports too.

For the next few days we just chilled at the resort. They had many activities planned for everyone in the evening. The kids enjoyed the magic show and their entertainment room which had plenty of toys and books.

There are also a few shops outside if you want to do a bit of shopping.

When you are travelling with kids, the first thing you want to make sure of is comfort, and Dona Sylvia took care of that in all aspects.

Also, the ‘all meals included’ package is the best option when travelling with kids as you don’t have to run around for food. There are so many options on the menu that you don’t have to worry about kids not eating on a trip.

The best thing about the resort is its quiet location and easily accessible beach. I think we have a good reason to go back to Goa now. It was a relaxed and fun stay, and Dona Sylvia made it possible for us.

Resort, food, rooms, staff, and location - 5 stars from us.

We are already looking forward to going back and enjoying their hospitality again.
