5 Excuses to Not Travel Which You Keep Telling Yourself

Your normal day begins, and you log on to social media, only to see some friend holidaying in the US, some other showing off pictures from Kerala, and another partying in Goa. What do you do? You tell yourself, ‘I don’t need to travel.’ I mean, routine is cool, man! You work day in and day out, take care of the house and the family, try to stay alive and keep your kids alive (if you have any!): what else do you need? Travel is for the weak!

So, here are 5 reasons why you should definitely not be travelling:

1. It’s too expensive.

I mean, who has the kind of money to travel? I need to save for retirement.

Of course, travelling to the US is now cheaper than an iPhone 6, but we’ll not think about that.

2. I don’t have the time.

I’m busy. I’ll just keep telling myself I’m busy.

I don’t need beauty in my life. Weekends are for the weak. I’ll just grow old by 30. Pfff!

3. I can’t decide where to go.

Too much of my mind-space will go into picking a destination. I can go grocery shopping instead. Exciting!

Of course, I could go through the MakeMyTrip blog and get inspired every day, but I’m going to curb that urge for now.

4. It’s such a hassle to book a holiday

Because I still live in the Stone Age, where holidays had to be booked a year in advance.

We’re not going to talk about the MakeMyTrip App, where I can book a holiday with just a few clicks.

5. What good will travel do me anyway?

So I’m going to drop everything, go see a new place, meet new people, try new food, learn new words: basically do something different from what I do every day. Now, why would I want to do all of that?

Let’s just pretend that the world isn’t so big, and there isn’t so much to see, so much to learn!

And now that you’ve convinced yourself you don’t need to travel, maybe you can just give this Great Indian Getaway a pass. Because why would you want great deals at incredible prices for your next vacation, right?

So, what’s your excuse?
