Organised by the Mahotsav Samiti, this festival takes you through an incredible journey of music and dance. A classical recital of Bhairavi or Sindhura, tabla jugalbandi, Kathak and Kuchipudi performances, Sarod recitals and more await you.

All your dreams of seeing musical maestros like Zakir Husain and Amjad Ali Khan perform will come true here. The soothing classical music will transport you to another world altogether. Amidst all the cultural performances, Jal Tarang recitals at the Ganges banks clearly stand out. The ceramic bowls tuned with water produce such sweet music that it is sure to put a smile on your face.

The fun doesn’t end here! Ganga Mahotsav Varanasi has lots to keep you busy with. If you thought there is nothing here for the shopaholic in you, think again. Be a part of this festival and spend hours together at the Gandhi Shilp Bazaar. With artisans from all over India displaying their best handicrafts, you’ll find it difficult to resist the temptation to buy all that you see.

The many days of fun, music, dancing and jubilations come to a close with something even bigger – Dev Deepawali. It is believed that on this day, god descends from heaven to bathe in the Ganges. Be a part of the millions of devotees who take a dip in the river and perform the Surya Namaskar. Sing hymns in praise of god as you light a diya and let it float on the holy Ganges, watching it till it disappears in to the sea of diyas that illuminate the night.
