A quaint Raj-era hill station near Chandigarh, Kasauli is perfect if you are looking for some me-time this monsoon. Tall, rain-washed trees, cobbled roads and fresh mountain air add to the charm and beauty of this place.

Things to Do in Kasauli

kasauli trekking

1. Go for a Walk in the Woods: Give your car or bike a break, and step out for a long walk in the woods post rain. Kasauli is also great for bird watching so grab your binoculars and spot Jungle Babblers, Blue Magpies, Flycatchers and more species. Later, head to the town to enjoy tea at the kiosks and marvel at British architecture.

2. Visit Christ Church: It’s hard to miss the imposing 160-year-old Christ Church when you enter Kasauli. Set amidst chestnut and fir groves, the church has a massive grey facade and colourful stained glass windows. Regular Sunday morning services are held here till date.

3. Trek up to Manki Point: The highest point in Kasauli, Manki Point is four kilometres from the bus stop and has a temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman. A tough climb to the top will reward you with beautiful valley views post rain.

4. Evening at Hangout: If you are the one who can’t do without your weekend drink, do not fret. Head to Hangout, a rooftop restaurant and bar at Kasauli Regency Hotel. The in-house guitarist will play your favourite track as you sip on drinks and enjoy the clouds hovering over the mountain.

5. Shop for Chic Woolens: Take out time to shop at the Tibetan market on the Mall Road. You will find winter caps, knitted socks in bright colours, and other items here.

Did you know where your favourite Old Monk came from? Well, it could be the Kasauli Brewery! It has the pride of being Asia’s oldest brewery where the distilling equipment was imported from England and Scotland.

Must-try Food
