Mossel Bay is an ideal destination for honeymoon couples, solo travellers and family vacationers. A harbour town in the southern bay of the stunning South Africa, it is only 400 kilometers away from Cape Town. Famous for its oysters and mussels, this place is a foodie's delight too! The good news is that in 72 hours you can actually bite a big slice out of the delicious pie called Mossel Bay. So let’s dig in…
Wake up early, put on your walking shoes and go hiking at the very popular St Blaize Trail. The trail is 13.5 kilometer long, beginning at a cave below the lighthouse there and running along till Dana Bay. Climb right to the top of the lighthouse for spellbinding views of the ocean on one side and the town on the other. Keep your camera handy and wear comfortable shoes—this will be one walk you will be talking about for years!
Depending on where you are staying, you can either walk down or drive to the beach. Santos has pristine clean water and soft sands, apart from safe, swimming-friendly waters, which makes it a great choice if you are travelling with kids. Spend the afternoon basking in the sun, watch the beautiful sunset and then hit one of the pubs right there to begin your night of revelry.
To be in South Africa and not go on a Safari is plain criminal. We insist that you take this trip because seeing is believing. Take an elephant safari or if you are in the mood to rough it out, explore the place on horseback. There is a wide range of wildlife to be spotted here, including rhinos, antelopes, baboons, lions and more. This is a half day trip and a perfect way to begin a day.
On the third morning of your stay at Mossel Bay, go on this tour to learn more about how humans evolved. According to research, all of us have descended from a small population which used to exist some 2,00,000 years ago. And archaeologists have found that these humans lived in Mossel Bay! Over there is a place called Pinnacle Point where the earliest evidence indicating human behaviour have been found. The geeks and nerds are going to love this.

Built in the 1960s in memory of ancient mariner Bartolomeu Dias, who was the first explorer to set foot on the soils of South Africa on 3rd February 1488, the museum has now been expanded into a complex. It is pretty close to the beach so you can make a quick pit stop here to brush up on your history.
The last night at Mossel Bay must be spent partying the night away! Pirates Tower Diaz Beach on Beach Boulevard is one of the most frequented places by locals as well as tourists. Spend the night pub hopping and move on to The Legendary Blue Oyster Bar at Market Street. There are quite a few nightclubs in Mossel Bay since tourists flock here in large numbers.
