Just 65 kms away from Hong Kong, lies the “Vegas of China” – Macau. The ideal time to travel to Macau is from October to December, and if you are going to visit this cheerful city for the very first time, here are some of the top attractions in Macau you should not miss at all.

1. The Ruins of St. Paul's

Standing tall near Mount Fortress and Macau Museum, are the Ruins of St. Paul’s. The 17th century ruins of St. Paul's College and the catholic Church of St. Paul attracts many tourists, and are counted amongst the most iconic attractions in Macau. This structure of one of the biggest catholic church built in granite, features a huge relic and a stairway. This UNESCO world heritage site will leave you awestruck!

2. A-Ma Temple

One of the oldest religious temples in Macau, A-Ma Temple dates back to 1488. This ancient temple will leave you mesmerised with its splendid architecture, unique décor and intricate designs. Do not miss the six different sections of the temple, each holding its own spiritual significance. The temple is dedicated to goddess Mazu, and it is believed that the name of the city ‘Macau’, was derived from the name of this temple. Interesting, right?! Also, don’t miss the stone lions at the temple’s entrance!

3. Senado Square

A UNESCO world heritage site and a part of “Historic Center of Macau”, Senado Square flaunts pastel coloured neo-classical buildings and Portuguese-style wavy mosaic-tiled floors. Packed with tourists, if you happen to visit during the Chinese New Year, don’t forget to witness the amazing lion and dragon dance accompanied by grand fireworks. Introduce yourself to the world of racing with photos, videos, cups, illustrated articles, commemorative items, and different records held by the champions.

6. Macau Tower
