The French Riviera is an unofficial area along the Mediterranean sea in the south of France. Since the area is unofficial, it has no official boundaries, which means that there’s no exact definition of where the French Riviera begins or ends. However, the Riviera is considered to begin at the French-Italian border in the east, all the way to Cassis, Toulon, Saint-Tropez on the west.

There are a large number of cities that are included in the French Riviera, and through history, the Riviera has become a more and more popular place for tourists to visit because of its incredible climate, beautiful scenery, rich history, and amazing culture.

But there are a few cities and towns on the French Riviera that are more popular than others. In this post, we’re sharing an infographic about the 6 most popular cities on the French Riviera. Their popularity is based on the number of tourists that come and visit every year, but since the numbers can vary, so can the most popular cities.

So let’s look at the 6 different cities and what defines them:

Nice is unarguable the most popular city on the French Riviera. If it is the largest city on the French Riviera in terms of inhabitants can be argued depending on whether or not you count Marseilles in the Riviera, but since most people don’t Nice takes the price.

Every year, it holds one of the most iconic and reputable Formula 1 races of the season which attracts tens of thousands of people and gains the country a ton of press. Its buildings are incredible, stretching far up in the sky.
