After the exciting adventures on Day 17, here’s what we did on the 18th day of our trip.

Entertainment No. 1

IMAX-ed for life

Tariq, my husband, had been to IMAX Wadala back in 1992 and he really wanted me to experience the powerhouse of cinematic entertainment. We saw one of the latest monster lizard flicks and never before had I witnessed special effects being translated so stupendously on screen. IMAX-ed for life!

The Queen’s Necklace

The calm and peace at the Marine Drive

I found my favourite place in Mumbai at Marine Drive. This stunning boulevard in the most posh locality of the city charms you from the word go! Facing the Arabian Sea on one side and sharp skyscrapers on the other, Marine Drive gave me the sense of space I was so missing in Mumbai.

The Grand Old Gateway

That's how Gateway of India looks at night

A trip to Maharashtra’s capital is incomplete without paying obeisance to the Gateway of India. Lovingly referred to as the Taj Mahal of Mumbai, you can hire a horse carriage to enjoy a romantic ride along the coastline. And you obviously can’t miss the magnificent Taj Mahal Palace hotel that stands imposingly right opposite.

Everybody Loves Leopold

Leopold Cafe earned a Trip Stop Recommendation

Call it over-hyped if you want but you just cannot ignore the Leopold Café in Colaba. This restro-bar of Shantaram fame keeps its more than 140-year-old air intact. The bullet marks from the 26/11 terror attack can still be seen. The grub was really good and promptly served, earning them a Trip Stop recommendation. I even packed a Raspberry Cheesecake to bring back to the hotel! This is our last night in the city of dreams. Excited to discover what Alibag brings for us tomorrow!
