Table Top Mountain

Panchgani is home to Table Land, the second highest table top mountain in Asia. About 6 kilometres long, it offers spectacular panoramas of the surrounding hills and valleys. A favourite shooting spot for Bollywood movies, such as ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and ‘Agent Vinod’, it also offers spectacular sunset views. A horse ride here is highly recommended.

Rajpuri Caves 

About 10 kilometres from Panchgani, this complex of four ancient caves is surrounded by many water ponds. Legend has it that the Pandavas stayed here during their exile from the Kingdom. The main attraction is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Kartikeya, which attracts many devotees. A dip in the ponds is said to cure all kinds of illnesses. 

Parsi Point

Parsi Point offers panoramic views of Krishna Valley, the hills and Dhom Dam Lake. This spot was a favourite of the Parsi community during the British Raj days, and hence the name. It is an ideal place for a picnic with the family. Enjoy the cool climate with a bhutta or batata sold by the street vendors.

Sydney Point

Just outside Panchgani town, this viewpoint offers 180 degree views of the majestic Krishna Valley. It is named after Sir Sydney Beckwarth, British Governor of Bombay in the 1830s. A bird’s-eye view of Wai town can be seen from here.

Wai

This picturesque town, on the banks of river Krishna, is known for its many temples and beautiful ghats. It is a favourite location of Bollywood directors, and scenes from movies like ‘Dabangg’, ‘Gangaajal’, ‘Omkara’, and ‘Chennai Express’ have been shot here.
