Ever thought of Las Vegas beyond its casinos? Well, I did! I decided to break the usual Vegas routine and planned a 1-day road trip to Death Valley. I picked up a Ford Mustang Convertible from the airport itself and was quite happy to get it in my favorite color within a few minutes — all thanks to the Avis staff.

Here are my best moments from this fascinating road drive :

car-driving

We started our journey and drove almost non-stop till our first stop, which was the Badwater Basin. except for a 5-minute halt for some pictures at the official entry point.

It took us almost 3 hours to reach from Las Vegas, with the best landscape keeping me company all along the route. The parking is free at all stops in Death Valley, which was a major relief. All the stops tcame with toilets too.

After spending about an hour, we moved on to our second stop: Devil's Golf Course, which was located around 30 minutes away along the same road. The road was a little patchy here as compared to the smooth tarmac all around the national park. There was unfortunately not much to see at this particular stop, so we spent about 15 minutes here for photos and videos.

Due to ongoing government issues in the USA , few of the connecting roads were closed so we were not able to drive up to certain points like the Artist Pallet, but we managed to stop for multiple stopped photographs.

Next, we headed to the Golden Canyon! You’ll need to burn some serious amount of calories to be explore this destination. We had to walk for about 2 kilometers, amidst some colorful rock formations and spooky locations.

We moved on to the next stop – the Zabriskie's Point, which was a 15-minutes drive from the Golden Canyon. It proved to be a window that opens up to the amazing work of nature. The beautiful terrain and vibrancy here will make you fall in love with this place.
