The 465 Km long railway track is estimated to be built with a cost of Rs. 83,360 crores, making the land of passes accessible to all, through a train journey. While the location survey is still on—which can take about 30 months—it still is a sigh of relief!

Look forward to a thrilling journey from Delhi to Ladkah by train, as you make your way through the tunnels cutting into the mighty Himalayas; one of the tunnels is estimated to run for 27 km. Kyelang will be one of the main stations on the route, and will be built at a height of 3000 meters. Running at a speed of 75 km/hr., this train journey will cut the travel time between New Delhi and Leh from 40 hours to 20 hours.

Interestingly, 52 percent of the journey would be covered through tunnels. How cool is that?
