Go Goa Gone

I had been teased plenty by my friends for not having visited Goa ever! So you can only imagine how high my excitement levels must have been as we entered the premises of this beach side holiday state. Since we had been driving for 6.5 hours, we headed straight for our hotel Estrela Do Mar Beach Resort to check if all that we had heard about this exquisite property was true.

Beauty by the Beach

Estrela Do Mar Beach Resort is an amazing property. Thank you MakeMyTrip for pampering us! Located in Calangute Beach and nestled amidst towering coconut trees, this pleasing resort gives you the luxury of your very own private beach of sorts. Our Swiss Cottage was divine to say the least, with its beautiful wooden walls and knockout amenities.

Hitting the Waves

It was evening by the time we ventured out to the sublime Calangute Beach. The setting was every bit blissful. Very often referred to as the ‘Queen of all beaches in Goa’, Calangute Beach had the Arabian Sea in a playful mood. Among the few revelers there, one soccer enthusiast really caught our fancy. This German shepherd was tuning up its football skills and got plenty of encouragement from everyone around. We headed back to our hotel post our encounters with the Calangute Beach and had some refreshments at the Beach Restaurant run by Estrela Do Mar.

Mambo No. 5

Easily one of the most popular retreat for partygoers, Café Mambo’s setting is tastefully Mediterranean and packs in the quiet ambience of a lounge with the energy of a dance floor. Its more famous sister property Tito’s is right next door and that, my dear, is a hit with the stags.

Love The Shacks

While the pubs and discotheques lining up Baga Road painted an exciting nightlife, the shacks looked more appealing to us, with the sea in the backdrop. Our next stop was Andrew’s, where we got a delightful candle-lit table facing the beach. Tariq, my husband, tried the locally brewed Kings beer (without missing on the opportunity to click its picture as well), available only in Goa. You too can enjoy the smoky taste of this drink for just 36 rupees!

As you can see, life’s a beach here and we aren’t complaining!
