ADVENTURE
Ever dreamt of flying like a bird over lush green forests with a chance to spot wild animals in their natural habitat? In Mauritius, you could do all this and more!
Situated in the south of the country, La Vallee des Couleurs Nature Park makes for the perfect escape for those who seek thrill and adventure. This 450 acre-wide stretch of land boasts of spectacular landscapes including plateaus, mountains, craters and crater-lakes. In the midst of all this, dwell indigenous flora and fauna, many of which are peculiar only to this island nation.
The best part is that all this comes packaged with an added thrill. The zipline here is 1.5 km long—the longest in the Indian Ocean, and the third longest in the world! Take in the magnificence of nature as you glide over the forests, watching the landscape unfold before you.
That’s not all; the park is also famous for having the longest bridge in the Indian Ocean. Reaching the other end of this 350 meter-long wooden bridge, balancing yourself with ropes on either side, is a heart-thumping experience in itself.

Another surprise at the park is a patch of earth with a 23-coloured pattern, dating back to millions of years. This unique patch was formed following the eruption of the Bassin Blanc Volcano. Ever since the 23-coloured earth was discovered here on the 4th of July 1998, La Vallée des Couleurs Nature Park has become one of the most famous attractions in Mauritius, drawing local as well as international tourists in large numbers.
This park is huge, and one of the fun ways to explore its expanse is on an all-terrain vehicle. You will get to stop at various scenic points, waterfalls, and a quaint animal farm to say hello to tortoises, monkeys, stags, fishes, and various other animals and birds. Do take some time out to book entry to the waterfall and enjoy a private swim.

If you are lucky, you may get to watch a film shooting in action, or perhaps run into your favourite celebs! It is said that Aishwarya Rai and Abhishek Bacchhan fell in love here while shooting for Kuch Na Kaho.
