    Dharwad

    With the high Western Ghats on one side and the vast, flat plains on the other, all covered in a canopy of lush vegetation, Dharwad is a city brimming with life and colour. Sometime in the fifth century, this city saw the rise and fall of a number of powerful kingdoms. Both Hubli and Dharwad are currently considered to be sister cities in the Indian state of Karnataka. A large transportation and distribution hub is being built in the city, which has its origins in agriculture.
