One of Chennai’s oldest structures, this temple is home to the shrines of Lord Shiva and Goddess Karpagambal (Parvati). Six daily rituals are performed from 5:30am to 10pm at the temple.
Devotees are welcomed through a 37-m-high gopuram (gateway) into the Dravidian styled temple. The premise houses 63 deities carved in bronze and has one of the oldest trees in Chennai, Punnai Tree.
