Overview
Comprising 16 rock-cut Buddhist caves, Kondana Caves were built in first century BC under a mountain. They bear ancient carvings and an inscription on the façade of the Chaitya cave.

What To Expect?
Along with the Chaitya cave, there are three others at Kondana Caves with interiors boasting of elements of Buddhist architecture like carved pillars, sculptures, lattice screens and panelled roofing.

- There is no entrance fee for the caves.
- The caves are best visited during daylight hours.
- Wear a comfortable pair of shoes when visiting the caves.
