According to the temple's legend, when Lord Shiva defeated the demon Tripurasura, his remains were scattered in three pieces, with one part falling near the Narmadakund, which subsequently became the sacred site of Lord Shiva. The temple houses a black Shiva lingam, also known as Jwaleshwar Mahadev. Additionally, Lord Shiva and Parvati are believed to have resided in this area due to their magnificent aura.
