Ooty's Toy Train journey spreads across the enchanting landscape of the Nilgiri Mountains. Operating since 1899, it passes through some of the most intriguing tunnels and forests.

Doddabetta is the highest peak of this region, standing tall at 2,623 metres. The top of this peak greets you with a breathtaking view of the valleys, mountains and lush greenery.
At Emerald Lake, you can enjoy slow fishing culture, and also use the surrounding land for picnics. The lake is located in the Silent Valley, surrounded by lush tea plantations.
Kalhatti Falls is Ooty's popular bird watching spot, also known for picnics and short trips. It has a tranquil surrounding and forms a small fresh water lake.
Kotagiri is a hill station near Ooty thronged by travellers for its misty serpentine roads. It is also the place from where various trekking trails originate.
Annamalai Temple, located roughly 10 km from the city, is situated on a hilltop and is sacred among locals. There is also an observatory offering panoramic views of the valley.
Named after the popular Indian Bison, the valley is also replete with other wildlife species like deer, tigers, elephants. You can also enjoy trekking and mountain biking here.
A nature lover's haven, Lamb's Rock is located in Coonoor. From the Nilgiri Hills, it gives a clear view of the Coimbatore Plains and Coonoor streams, almost 5,000 feet below.
