My cousin, a friend and I planned a road trip to Kasauli!

Due to the excitement of embarking on my first road trip, I could not even sleep properly the night before. Our trip started from Gurugram on a fine day in the month of May.

One our way, we gorged on yummy parathas loaded with butter and sipped on some buttermilk at the popular Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal.

We were hungry again! This time the snacks packed by my mom and sis rescued us. Then we had a few refreshments in Chandigarh, another pit stop. That day I understood why they call Chandigarh as “city beautiful”.

Soon we were on the winding roads and amidst the cool mountain breeze. Wow!

After reaching Kasauli, we took some rest at our accommodation, Ros Commons. Soon we left for a stroll. Kasauli is a hill station apt for the lovers of tranquility and nature. We visited Kasauli Baptist Church to seek some blessings, the peaceful place lies just near the market.

Right in the middle of the market was Rudra Café, where you can enjoy yummy food in a cozy atmosphere. Their lemon coriander soup, sweet corn soup and veg salt n pepper were great. The food was fresh and satisfied our taste buds. Everything was pocket-friendly! We even loved the music played there.

Soon it was raining heavily and we got drenched while walking back to the resort! However, the weather was heavenly.

The next day, we wanted to do some sightseeing. The Kalka Shimla toy train was on our list so we reached Dharampur, the closest station where we parked our vehicle and boarded the train! The cute little train moves slowly while offering splendid views of the mountains and the gigantic trees. Although, we could not secure seats, the views were worth the trouble! One can easily feel that he or she is in another world.

After clicking a lot photos, we got down in Solan where we relished strolling and eating at the local market.

Located in an air force area, Manki Point was our place to visit for the next day. The Hanuman temple has too many stairs so I ditched walking up although others went all the way up! Nevertheless, I had a great time enjoying a piping hot aloo paratha at the military canteen where Maggi was also great. We went back to Rudra Café to have some breakfast before leaving the hill station. The Mexican omelette and the Irish coffee were amazing!

On our way back, we stopped at Chandigarh and enjoyed a movie. Later, it was a halt at our favourite Sukhdev Dhaba in Murthal where we gorged on some dinner. We reached home at one in the night.

The end of my first road trip left me all excited and craving for more!
