There’s good news for all voracious travellers out there. After six months of nationwide lockdown, Agra is opening its doors to tourists again from 21 September 2020!
So check-out from your dreary WFH schedule and check-in to this land of wonders. Go right ahead and feast your eyes on the alluring beauty of Taj Mahal or listen to the many tales of Mughal valour at Agra Fort.
All safety measures are in place
The government is doing all it can to ensure your safety. Measures include thermal screenings at the entrance, thorough sanitisation twice a day, no physical sale of tickets to minimise contact, and a time limit of maximum 3 hours per visitor.
You can visit the Archaeological Survey of India website or download their app to buy an online ticket. Or you can also scan the QR Code on standees placed outside the monuments to buy tickets. For your safety, there is a cap on the total number of tickets sold in a day to manage crowds better.
For now, the Taj Mahal will remain closed for tourists on Fridays and Sundays while Agra Fort will be closed on Sundays.
What you can do
Wear masks continuously and ensure the mask covers your nose, mouth and chin. Maintain physical distancing protocols thoroughly and keep sanitising your hands regularly. Carry your own water bottles and sanitizers.
Where can you stay
Book yourself a relaxing stay after your explorations at any of these luxury properties, all within 3-4km radius of these monuments.
