1. Madikeri
Madikeri is a paradise for coffee lovers with a number of coffee plantations spread out and many of them offering plantation tours during the winter season. 30 minutes away from Coorg, the hill town of Madikeri is the easiest day trip from Coorg that fills you up with some stunning vistas of coffee plantations, a tour of the Madikeri Fort, and the Omkareshwar Temple located at the heart of the town.
2. Nagarhole National Park
Pack a snack for the road and get ready for a short one-hour drive, which will take you to the green environs of the Nagarhole National Park. Spot majestic tigers, elephants, and bears while you take a tour of the park. Birdwatchers might be able to spot some exotic birds too.
3. Kushalnagar
Kushalnagar welcomes you with a slightly warmer climate during the day, but the temperatures dip as the sun sets. Wildlife enthusiasts visiting Coorg must make this 30-kilometre journey (which takes about an hour) to Kushalnagar to admire a number of elephants at the Dubare Elephant Camp.
