The Auyantepui Mountain Range in southeastern Venezuela is also known as the Devil’s Mountain, and it is from here that Angel Falls, the highest waterfall in the world, splashes out in its full glory. Christened after its discoverer Jimmy Angel, an American adventurer and pilot, the waterfall is 979 metres (3,212 feet) high. Due to its great height, the water almost turns into fog by the time it reaches the ground!

Situated in Canaima National Park on the Churun River, Angel Falls is the top most attraction of Venezuela and its longest uninterrupted drop is 807 meters (2,640 feet.) The waterfall and its surroundings offer splendid scenic vistas. You can either view them by taking a helicopter tour or by boat. Trekking to the base of the waterfall is another way to experience it, though a tough one. You can also plan a trip to the closeby Raton Island to see the waterfall in all its splendour. However, since it is surrounded by dense forests on all sides, the best way to witness it is by taking a helicopter ride. The sight of the Angel Falls from above is one to behold and is sure to leave you with memories that will be etched in your heart forever.
