SURPRISE ME!
Busy lives and crazy work schedules don’t mean that you can’t take that much-awaited European holiday. So you can’t spare two weeks in Europe, so what? Here’s the perfect itinerary for you to take that quick break and see some amazing parts of Europe in five days.
The best way to see the main attractions of Paris is to take an organised tour of the city. But there are many different ways to see the ‘city of lights’. The Hop on-Hop off bus takes you on an organised tour of the city, allowing you to get off and spend time at an attraction and then get back on to the next bus and move on. The other way to see the city is to get hold of a tourist map and take the metro rail, which is quite easy to navigate. Another great Way to tour the city is to cycle you way around on the Vélib, the public bicycle sharing system of Paris.
Visit the iconic Eiffel Tower, Napoleon’s Tomb, the Louvre, which houses the Mona Lisa, Paris’ famous garden - Jardine des Tuileries, the Conciergerie prison where Marie Antoinette was imprisoned, the majestic Notre Dame Cathedral, Palais et Jardin du Luxembourg, which is Paris’ second largest public garden and the Panthéon, modelled after its Roman counterpart. Enjoy the lively atmosphere of the Latin Quarter, Jardin du Palais Royal – the royal palace, drive down the Champs Elysées, visit the Arc De Triomphe and Place de la Concorde, apart from other attractions. Exploring the city yourself has its own charm and getting ‘lost’ can be the most memorable experience!
After having seen the main attractions of Paris on the first day, let the second day be quite different. Head out to the magic kingdom of Disneyland Paris and enjoy the thrilling rides and fascinating shows. In the evening, head up to the observation tower of the Montparnasse Tower, one of the tallest skyscrapers of Paris and view the city as it dazzles dressed in lights.
After an action-packed day, spend the later part of the evening watching the Lido show and sipping a glass of champagne while enjoying the scintillating performances.

Like Paris, Geneva should definitely be on your list of seeing Europe in five days. There are many ways to see Geneva. You could choose from guided walking tours, private tours, audio guides or on Segways or cycles. Visit the landmark of Geneva – the Jet D' Eau, Jardin Des Anglais – the English gardens, Brunswick Monument – a neo-Gothic style mausoleum, Palais De Nations – headquarters of the League of Nations, the European Headquarters of the UN, the Red Cross Museum and the Botanical Gardens, apart from the many other sites that you will cross en route.
Reach Lucerne and take a self-guided orientation tour of the city. Enjoy the beautiful painted frescos on the public buildings and churches. You can get around town on foot and visit the art Museum, the Jesuit Church, the Mill Bridge, the Zyt Tower, the Picasso Museum and not to forget the beautiful Chapel Bridge bedecked with flowers. Enjoy the Lowemdenkmal Lion Monument, one of the most photographed monuments in the world.
During the winter, in addition to the ski slopes, snow parks are available for freestyle skiing. There is a special one for families with kids located on Käserstatt, which can be reached by gondola. These snow parks have all sorts of obstacles, rails and boxes, which make the experience more fun.
Next, head up to Mt. Titlis on the world’s first revolving cable car to a height of 3028 metres to view the crevasses and ice boulders in the Swiss Alps. Ride the Ice Flyer, which is an open cable car that gives you the feeling of 'flying' over the glacier. Visit the illuminated glacier cave and also walk on the highest elevation suspension bridge in Europe while feasting on magnificent views of the Alps.
As part of your Europe in five days tour, get to the high point of your holiday in Jungfraujoch. Interlaken is the place you will start your journey up to Jungfrau, Make your way up on a steep rail journey to the highest railway station in Europe to get some amazing views. The Sphinx Observatory allows a 360-degree view of the mountains as well as the green valleys below. Visit the Ice Palace, which is 20 metres below the viewing platform and a museum showcasing how the entire railroad came together.
A lot can be achieved in Europe in five days. So don’t fret because you don’t have enough time. Just pack your bags and do all the above for memories to last you a lifetime.
