Chinnakanal Waterfalls – Adding to the breathtaking beauty of Munnar is the beautiful Chinnakanal Waterfalls, flowing from a height of 800 metres. Surrounded by the Western Ghats, this is a popular picnic spot for tourists.

Eravikulam National Park – One of the main attractions near Munnar is the Eravikulam National Park. Known for the Nilgiri Tahr, the park also houses many rare butterflies, animals and birds. This National Park stands out because of its rolling grasslands and the mystical flower, Neelakurinji, which blooms once every 12 years! Anamudi Peak, at a height of 2,700 metres is the highest point of South India and is located within the Park.

Mattupetty Dam – Just 13 kilometres from Munnar, the Mattupetty Dam has boating facilities and is a popular picnic spot. From here you can enjoy majestic views of the tea plantations. The Shola forest nearby is a trekkers heaven with lush green trees and rivulets criss-crossing the path. Another attraction here is the dairy farm which houses many varieties of high-yielding cattle.

Top Station – Just 32 kilometres from Munnar, Top Station is the highest point in Munnar, perched at a height of 6,170 feet. Located on the Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, it offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the green valley in Theni, Tamil Nadu.
