SURPRISE ME!
While quarantine fatigue and signs of reopening may be fueling your wanderlust, your first journey in the new world may not be what you’re used to. However that definitely doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t make the most of your journey. You’ve done the hard part, you’ve survived the lock-down and it’s time to reward your patience with some travelling. We promise this is not just another “things will never be the same again” post. Here are a few things to keep in mind as you contemplate travelling post COVID-19.
If you’re contemplating whether to pack an object, toss it out, you probably don’t need it. Pack sanitizers, wipes, disposable gloves, and masks to save yourself from any kind of infection. Avoid carrying extra stuff but do carry some cash if you are planning to use the ATM, as it would avoid unnecessary risk of coming in contact with a public machine.
Also, carry any medicine you think you might need. Take something like a Kindle device with you to avoid boredom if you are unable to go out much.
Try to pay via digital methods so that you are not exposed to others while making a payment. Opt for an online or digital self-check-in and self-boarding if available. You may also be able to print your own luggage tags.
Familiarize yourself with these processes, so your transits can be quick and easy! Download apps you will require for making payments, scanning codes, etc.
Practice hygiene measures like using your elbow while sneezing or coughing. Trust us, it’ll save you a few stares. Pat down the surfaces you use with alcohol wipes to be sure that you are touching a clean surface. Sanitize and wash your hands thoroughly after contact with any public surfaces. Stand at least 3-6 feet away from others as you never know where they’ve been.
Invest in a health checkup before travelling. Exercise and drink lots of water to remain fit before and while you travel. Keep Coronavirus at bay with regular doses of Vitamin C as the virus primarily affects those with a weakened immune system. You can also invest in travel insurance.
Tourist destinations may decide to allow in fewer people, to ensure social distancing. To ensure you have the best experience, do your research ahead of time and choose a time when you know your dream destination won’t have swarms of people. Choose green places, away from the bustle of the city..
We recommend you to not visit multiple places at a time. Instead, slow down and get engaged with the culture of the place you visit. Take your time to try the local food, shop for souvenirs and visit all that there is to discover. Visiting a large number of places indicates more of transits, travel advisories, precautions and many more flights – and you shouldn’t have to worry about these right away.
And finally, don’t forget how lucky you are to be able to travel, overcome your wanderlust and finally be able to enjoy yourself in a destination of your choice. As countries roll towards a new normal, travel becomes tricky. While the world is still your oyster, you need to ensure extra precaution, and we’re here to help you do that. With these easy tips, you can thus make your first trip in the new world into an easier one.
You deserve a break! You deserve a treat! You’ve been confined to your homes for far too long, and you literally need to find a “home away home,” at least for a few days. So choose a safe yet interesting resort and make a checklist of everything you feel like doing
