We all know that Delhi is a foodie's paradise. But one of the best times to taste the specialties of this culinary jannat is during Ramadan. Having been a food aficionado for years, here are my top recommendations for the best places, restaurants and dishes to eat in Delhi during Ramadan:

1. Al Jawahar: Jama Masjid

Mutton Stew @ Rs. 150

Chicken Jahangiri @ Rs. 170

After a memorable cultural and spiritual moment at the Jama Masjid at the time of Iftar, head to Al Jawahar for

some delicious chicken dishes. Apart from the ones listed above, my favourite during a recent visit was the Egg Curry.

2. Karim's: Hazarat Nizamuddin

Chicken Stew @ Rs. 320

You could go to the Karim's close to Jama Masjid as well, but I recommend this not just for its Chicken Stew

but also for the divine qawwali sessions at the Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddi every Thursday. And don't leave without

trying the delicious Phirni!

3. Kake Di Hatti: Chandni Chowk

Soya Chap Tikka @ Rs. 120

Synonymous with some really great cheap shopping options, Chandni Chowk is also filled with some of the best eateries.

Vegetarians don't despair!Head to Kake Di Hatti for some of the best Soya Chaps and Dal Makhani.

4. Anmol Chicken Corner & Al. Khatir Restaurant: Sadar Bazaar

Sadar Bazaar is famous for its chicken dishes and Biryani. Head to Anmol Chicken Corner & Al. Khatir Restaurant

for some really tasty delicacies.

5. Babu Ram Paranthe Wale: Paranthe Waali Gali

Paneer Paratha @ Rs. 60

This evergreen eating hub is an all-time favourite even at the time of Ramadan. Try the many varieties of

butter dripping paranthas at Babu Ram Paranthe Wale. My personal recommendations are the Paneer,

Gobhi and Aloo-Pyaaz Paranthas.

6. Purani Dilli Restaurant: Okhla Zakir Nagar

Chicken Achari @ Rs. 250

A favourite with the Jamia crowd, Purani Dilli Restaurant in Okhla is a real treat to the taste buds. Go for the

Chicken-Achari or the Nihari here.

7. Khan Chacha: Khan Market
