A 147-mile long stretch along the California coast from Carmel to Morro Bay has rightly been designated as an all-American road. Starting in historic Monterey, passing through the art colony of Carmel and finally to Big Sur, you can enjoy the breathtaking mountain ranges plunging into the Pacific on this route.
Not To Be Missed: Carmel-by-the-Sea, Point Lobos State Reserve, Big Sur, Bixby Bridge, San Simeon, Cambria, Santa Barbara
When to Go: All year around. June and August are the peak seasons
Arizona’s most distinguishable landmark, The Grand Canyon, is unbelievable with its 277-mile expanse of gorges, ridges and rock formations. Take a hike to the bottom of the canyon to explore the rims, or hike through the Rim-to-Rim Trail, the Bright Angel Trail, Rainbow Rim Trail, Hermit Trail and South Kaibab Trail.
Not To Be Missed: Grand Canyon Village, The Bright Angel, Rim trails on the South Rim, Havasu Falls, Grand Canyon Skywalk
When to Go: March through May, and September through November. The entire North Rim closes after the first snowfall in winters.
