About Porbandar (PBD)
The birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi- Porbandar is located along the western coast of the Indian state of Gujarat. It boasts of an impressive history that dates back to the period of the Harappan settlement. During excavations, many ancient jetties were found, which reveal facts about Porbandar as a thriving centre of maritime activities. The prime attraction of the town is the Kirti Mandir- a temple that has been built in the memory of 'The Father of the Nation' and his wife Kasturba Gandhi. It lies just a few steps away from the ancestral house of the Gandhi family.
