One of the three museums that make the famous ‘Madrid’s Golden Triangle’, the museum is believed to have opened in 1819. The Prado houses the finest European art by masters like Francisco Goya, Titian, and Diego Velázquez.

Apart from the bronze statue of Diego Velázquez on the main promenade entrance, a vast collection of about 1500 paintings can be seen in the galleries here. El Prado also hosts significant exhibitions from different eras, including Greco-Roman sculptures.
