The Cellular Jail is a seven-winged, three-story structure made primarily of bricks. It is designed in a radial pattern, with a central tower serving as the hub and seven wings radiating outward like the spokes of a wheel. The architecture was specifically planned to allow for efficient monitoring and isolation of prisoners.

Each wing of the jail consists of several cells arranged in a straight line. The cells were small, measuring about 13.5 feet by 7 feet, and were intended to house individual prisoners. The cells were designed to be isolated from each other, with thick walls and a small ventilator at the top to provide limited light and air. The slender cells contained a small entryway equipped with a tiny portal for the purpose of both nourishment and correspondence.
