What To Expect?

The first phase of the ride takes around 9 minutes, while the second phase takes about 12 minutes. Get panoramic views of the beautiful snow-capped mountains, valleys and forests.

Tips

  • The timings for the ride is from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • The fee for phase-1 is Rs. 700 and for phase-2 is Rs. 900.
  • Chair car rides are available for phase-2 at an additional cost of Rs. 300.

The Gulmarg Gondola Ride is a thrilling cable car experience in the picturesque town of Gulmarg, nestled in the heart of the Pir Panjal mountain range in Jammu andKashmir. Known for offering breathtaking panoramic views of the snow-capped Himalayas, the Gulmarg Gondola is one of the highest and longest cable car rides in Asia. The ride is divided into two phases, with each phase providing a unique perspective of the stunning landscape.


Highlights of Gulmarg Gondola RidePhase I: from the Gulmarg resort to Kongdori Station (2600 m) in the bowl-shaped Kongdori Valley which takes 9 minutes to reach.
Phase II: from Kongdori Station to Kongdori Mountain (3747 m), the shoulder of Apharwat Peak which takes 12 minutes


In the third phase of Gulmarg Gondola project, 90 chairlifts were installed in 2011. The chairlift connects Kongdori to Mary Shoulder where many skiing events take place. It takes 11 minutes for the chairlift to go from one point to the other.
